So, i was planning to buy something to replace my old psp, and i'm not sure which one to buy. PSVita has better screen, and hardware, it also does have some interesting games such as the new corpse party, but on the other hand nintendo still has mario... Which one do you suggest?

I have a Vita and I'm almost a Sony fanboy but the Vita is a dead console, not many AAA exclusives and a really bad support from Sony. I think that the 2/3DS is a better option because it has a lot of games, many of them have the classic funny style that Nintendo has. And the 3DS has Pokemon btw....

If you like RPGs and games that aren't.. you know.. made for 8 year olds, I'd go for the Vita. Plus all the PSX and PSP classics are available in the psn store.

also, digital downloads on 3ds can't be backed up.. ever.. lose your console with a downloaded game? buy another? tough shit you gotta re-buy all your games too..

Actually digital downloads are on the SD card? Therefore you can take that SD card out the same way you could take a game cartridge out.

If i remember correctly digital downloads are on the SD card. The problem is that they are configured to your "account". The account of nintendo is the console, there's no login, as such if you lose or break your console you lose everything digital on that platform.
I can be wrong since i haven't been giving my 3DS attention but the last time i used it you had no type of account to have your purchases safe.

Hmm true, stuff is tied to your account I believe, that's what system transfers are for, but I guess that can only be done before your system breaks. I haven't tried it but realistically, it sounds to me like if your games are on your SD card, logging into a new system with your account and inserting that SD card should still work? Idk just an observation

i tried that at the time and it didn't work. You have to "manualy" do the system transfer. (i was transferring my 3DS to a 3DSXL). I tryed that 2-3 years ago so i have no idea if it's still currently like this.

It really depends on the types of games you enjoy. I have both a Vita and a 3DS and my 3DS tends to gather dust when my Vita gets played regularly and I have a bunch of preorders for upcoming Vita releases, a bit of a backlog on it and some games I'm still wanting to get for it. Other than PC, Vita is my most played system.

And really, most of the games I'd have an interest in on 3DS has a Vita version as well. There's few 3DS exclusives I wanted and I'm really not into most of Nintendo's exclusive IPs. Plus I'm really into achievements and trophies and 3DS lacking them is a huge fault to me when so many platforms do have them now. That fact alone makes the Vita version of any game for both systems superior, and often the Vita version is better.

And Vita actually does have some pretty dang amazing and unique games. If you aren't so much into AAA titles and prefer the more unique niche games, Vita is definitely the better choice because its library is definitely rich in those sorts of titles.

I bought a Vita for portable PS1 RPG simulator. Was not disappointed. Plus it's easier for me to buy digital content with PSN. Plus, PS+ is great. Although on the NA Vita, they are not that generous like EU because for few months back they just give free cheap indies.

PS Vita is a more powerful system and performs better but it's really lacking official support from sony.
Pretty much the library of games consist of ports from Ps3 games or indie game downloads that are available on PC/PS3.

3Ds is not as graphically powerful as the PSvita but nintendo is smart about that, they put out games with fun content and a large library of games to compensate.

in the end, It's up to you what you want but I suggest looking at some of the games upcoming releases for both systems and decide.

I'm a Vita owner, my friends are Vita owners, my - nope, that's just it. lol
Try Nintendo, man. PS just flushed Vita down on a toilet when it comes to games... It's sad but is not going to stick around: E3 and Gamescom were disappoint.
PS Vita, a.k.a Persona/Borderlands machine, doesn't have AAA titles coming so soon while you have PSP/Nintendo emulators on it's scene that stick around only in certains firmwares. Furthermore, PS indies games are being released to PS3 and PS4 as well.
So, if you have a PSP keep it for PS games: nothing is going to change...

Pretty much depends on the games you want to play.
Also, if you want something portable 2DS really isn't that good. 3DS(XL) is better for that.

if you'd be wondering between @DS/PSP I'd recommend you PSP, because of better graphics and controls, but if you had PSP already then you probably already tyried a lot of great PSP titles - and PSVita library is not impressive comparing with Nitendo handheld - so I'd go for 2DS (or if you have monies for Vita better go straight for 3DS ;p)

3Ds / 2DS is the best option, for the simple reason it has better games.

I don't really know what to say, but wouldn't a 3DS XL be a much better choice over the 2DS assuming you have the money for it?(is it more than the Vita?)

I know, many people dislike the PS Vita, but I bought it and I have to say I love and really enjoy it.

The features are amazing (you'll most likely know which I'm talking about) and even though there could've been more blockbuster games, it's really nice. It has many indie games, but they're also really cool. :)

Need For Speed: Most Wanted. It was pretty fun and enjoyable! The controls are great and it's a nice overall feeling.

Lumines: Electronic Symphony. A relaxing game. Fun and great music. :)

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation. I loved it! It was the first time with a female protagonist. Nice combat, really well done.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Similar to AC. Simply amazing!

Gravity Rush. Vita exclusive. Awesome game! It's really original, can't wait for the sequel.

Little Big Planet. It's LBP. Nothing else to say, it's pretty cool! :D

Tearaway. Vita exclusive. Made by the developers of LBP. It uses the features of the Vita really well. Fun!

Stealth Inc.. A great puzzle game, enjoyed it pretty much.

Machinarium. Another cool puzzle game with beautiful graphics. Highly recommended!

Rogue Legacy. Original and nice game. Cool retro graphics.

Duskforce. Really fun platformer! :)

Hotline Miami. Fancy game, it's so fun and amazing! The sequel will also be available on the Vita.

Among these games, there are many great upcoming ones!

Hyper Light Drifter. Funded with Kickstarter. Amazing and beautifully designed game.

Minecraft. It's Minecraft. :D

Murasaki Baby. Another beautifully designed title. Can't wait to play it!

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. You'll have to play it. It's damn cool!

Velocity 2X. It's simply fun. :D

Mighty No. 9. Also got funded with Kickstarter. Awesome game (similar to Megaman) :D

VVVVVV. Amazing little platformer! :)

There are many other games I could list here. I love the Vita and this opinion won't change.

Yeah, this is why i'm considering it also, but the problem with these games, that the most of them are more enjoyable on PC in my opinion

Well, yeah, that's a matter of taste then. Especially because Liberation isn't Vita exclusive anymore, the only exclusives are Gravity Rush, Uncharted, Tearaway and a few others.

I comprehend that, that's why I suggest you buying a DS or none of them now.

Sony has more or less stopped supporting the Vita, get a 2DS.

I personally strongly prefer the Vita to the 3DS family, and I'm probably alone in that. Mostly because I'm mad at the fact that my own 3DS's L button stopped working long ago, and Disgaea.

Vita, if only because you can get Spelunky on it. I don't have one, and its a good thing I don't because then I'd sink more into that wonderful game.

I curently own a 3DS and I have to say it has a gallery full of good games games that is honestly way bigger than the Vita. When I was thinking about buying a portable console I looked first at the Vita:

Let's see...so a bunch of PS3 ports...I guess that's okay...what about the other games?Rayman?Also on 3DS.Batman Origins?Also on 3DS.And very few JRPGs after so much time.
Now let's look at the 3DS:

So great cult classics like Sonic,Mario,Zelda and Pokemon that will release your 7 year old-self,but also great RPGs like Bravely Default (don't judge just because of the name) and Fire Emblem: Awakening.Did I metion that they are also Proffesor Layton and Phoenix Right games there? Also Super Smash Brothers.Did I not mention that Shovel Knight and Lego Games are there as well?
I think you get the point.3DS has amazing games for a portable console while Vita has games that were not really made for portable console (COD).
Also the price of a 3DS and it's games are lower than the Vita itself and it's games.
So overall I recommend buying a 3DS over a Vita or 2DS because you probaly want something to fit in your pocket...a 2DS doesn't really fit in one.Or even an XL if you want one of those skins to put on the back.
