I constantly get people asking me about Idle Master or being confused about how to setup Archi Steam Farm. I just created a short and concise video on how to setup and use Archi Steam Farm (ASF)

Thought it might be useful to post here considering most people on these forums seem to be aware of bundles and collecting games, and there may be new users who are unaware of card farming:

Updated Archi Steam Farm Guide || New User Interface

Let me know what you guys think about card farming and if the video was clear enough. I realize that setting up ASF for the first time can be painful and incredibly confusing and wanted to help make it easier. (I have no idea why Archi made it so convoluted)

Only hard part has been reading the manual, so I guess it works much better as a video for some people than text.

Not even large capital letters can help when nobody cares about what you're saying. ;)

I always felt like the written configuration guide was extremely long and worded in a way that most people may not understand. It certainly is useful for those who fully want to understand what is going on and all the individual features though.

That's what a manual always feels like to me as well, but only before I actually spend a minute reading it. After it's just couple simple things anyone can do just like in your video. Made by coders for coders I'd guess. :)

I like that you did it but the problem is with the next version having some new deprecation people will complain to the development team that it doesn't work like in the video -.- but thanks for recoding <3

Yeah honestly this is the third time I've made a guide for ASF. This one will likely get outdated within a year, but oh well haha

i don't see changes within the very near future but at some point i suspect there will be some again :) that's the problem with projects that are alive and maintained.

I like how you showed users what IPC is capable of and how they can manage bots through ASF-ui as an alternative to generating configs in a classic way. There is a chance that the video gets obsolete, but I don't really expect it to happen anytime soon.

Well the only major change that i think is that you don't need to create separate config file through the online config generator, ASF can do this on its own now, that's kinda cool :)

It always could but it was never implemented as a backend way because of no way to access it before we finished coding ASF API. Web config generator isn't really "online", all configs are generated locally and no data ever leaves your PC, you're only downloading code telling your browser how to generate ASF configs.

What you're doing in IPC is exactly the same thing - ASF-ui asks ASF how to generate config, then shows it to you. The only good thing is that you don't need to manage config directory manually anymore. It's good alternative, but old way wasn't any worse.

Take out the "Reasons to Card Farm" as it makes it seem like you are advocating the use of ASF (i.e. like an ad). We do not allow advertising in the forum.

It's been a while since I used ASF or any idle program since I left Steam for a while.

I forgot if I can idle a specific game I choose instead of multiple games at once (and ability to use more than one account)

I need to open a specific game today & play it for an hour to get a reward & it's eating a lot of memory with Chrome & TV streaming service open attsm.
