For various reasons, I decided to give Chrome a try to see if I'd prefer it to Firefox. There are some things I don't like that can probably be fixed with extensions:

  • When I close a tab, I want to go to the tab to the right of the tab I closed. Currently if there are tabs I opened from the current tab*, then closing the current tab switches to one of them instead. Even when they are loading but there are multiple, fully loaded, tabs in between.
  • It asks me when I want to open too many tabs at one go. I want to increase the threshold that causes that dialog to appear.

*I've got an extension that makes them open on the right of the tab bar. Which is where I want them to open.

Does anyone know of Chrome extensions, or other methods, that could help me ?

If there are, then I plan to use Chrome for a few days then decide if I like it. If there is no way to deal with these annoyances, then I will be sticking with Firefox.

You know that Chrome gets the same data as firefox?
And that you can disable that stuff?

Please tell me the specifics about what Chrome sends on to Google. Remember, it's open source, so anyone who doesn't know the specific data Chrome sends hasn't done enough research to be credible.
