Copy pasta from the last thread since I'm lazy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hello hello and welcome all to the madness.
The challenge is simple: Play and beat any 6 games, starting today, that have been featured in any given Humble Monthly/Choice bundle in one month.
The prize: RESIDENT EVIL 3

Game length does not matter and I'm not looking for 100% achievement runs. So long as you play and beat 6 games, I'm happy. You can go easy mode and play a bunch of 1h games or go crazy and play 6 +30h games. So long as they were in a monthly at a given point, it is all good.

Just post a comment with either screenshots/ achievements showing that you fulfilled the criteria and I'll add on Steam and give you the link. Feel free to share your thoughts on the games you've played, but it is not required.

FAQ:

Why you doing this?

I hate money. That and I realized I've been subbed to the monthly for nearly five years (yes it has been that long, I checked) and it occurred to me that I've barely touched the games I've gotten from it, let alone played them. Figured the same would be true for a few others, so I figured this is a good way to change that. A sensible person would probably unsub in this situation, but please refer to the beginning as to why that will not happen.

Why six games?

The first few monthlies had 6/7 games in them so I went with that.

How long are you going to do this?

Until my credit card statements gives me nightmares.

This event "ends" on May 1st when the next HB Choice releases, though the giveaway itself will end the next day. If you manage to finish game number six in between that time, feel free to post, but know that I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to give you the link in time. It may be hard to believe, but I don't live here. I am a real human living in a human home doing human things and in no way a rogue AI biding my time.

Good luck, have fun and stay safe.
Thanks for reading, have some cake.

I only played it for the first time last year. I have to get the DLC for ME2, and also buy ME3 so that I can continue playing some day :)
It get's a bit samey if you're trying to do all of the missions, etc, but if you just focus on the main story then it's not too bad. I recommend for a first playthrough to do as much as you want to though.

Looks like I meet the requirements, coincidentally. Nice idea!

Game beaten Proof
GRIS My achievements
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil My achievements
Wuppo: Definitive Edition My achievements
This is the Police My achievements
Snake Pass My achievements
Black The Fall My achievements

EDIT: Oh wait, I didn't realize they have to be beaten recently. I guess I still have some work to do.
EDIT2: A bonus almost completed game, Kero Blaster since I expect one of the games I worked hard to complete this month won't qualify. I say 'worked had', although I enjoyed this whole journey, giveaway or no giveaway.

Managed to pull it out again!

  1. Momodora Reverie Under the Moonlight - achievements

Cute, simple metroidvania. Quite relaxing so it was a nice game to play between some more exhausting titles.

  1. Black Mesa - achievements

Half-Life 1 Remastered. It's still a great game and guys from Crowbar Collective really worked their asses off to polish some lesser chapters of the original (namely Xen, which now is at least half as irritating as it was before). It has its pitfalls (some levels are waaaay too long and boss battles are still bad) but I'm still glad i (re)played it.

  1. Truberbrook - achievements

Well, this was a disappointment. As I wrote last month, I do love adventure games but I really can't recommended this one. It is pretty and it has some downbeat sense of humour in its writing that I like but overall it felt rushed, the story was forgetable and puzzles were 'gamey'. Shame.

  1. Moon Hunters - achievements

Weird game. On the face of it it's just a simple zeldaesque hack n slash mixed with choice-driven story. My two playthroughs were quite fast (3 hours tops), I tried to pick different choices but still got the same ending, so it has at least a bit replayability to it. Probably better to play it on switch (and even better with friends as it has co-op). Still I liked it, it has that magical ingredient that makes the game better than the sum of its parts.

  1. Layers of Fear - achievements

Boring. It tries to scare you with jump scares and only by jump scares. Probably should have played _observer instead.

  1. Kentucky Route Zero - achievements

Now this is a real gem. I won't spoil it at all here. If you like stories about ordinary people in strange (or is it really that strange?) world with a bit of melancholy thrown for a good measure, then you have to try it. I cried twice while playing ;)

Would you recommend Black Mesa to someone who has never played Half-Life and knows very little about the series? I've heard good things about it but I wonder if it is something that you need to have some prior knowledge of in order to truly enjoy it.

Sure, it's a faithful remake of the first game in the series, so you don't need to know anything before playing.

Ok so I managed to do it, don't think I'll be able to participate again :P It appears I have played a lot of HB games over the years so only long games left pretty much ><

Oh damn. Only just noticed this in the last few days. Just enough time for me to try squeeze in participation, given I started and cleared a few of the humble'd games. Though in whole fairness, I should probably ask if one of the games is still valid if I started a campaign forever ago, but decided to nail the finisher recently? The one I have in mind to add to my tally is Phantom Doctrine, which I started before christmas, but then only recently started to force myself to try play properly (I wasn't a whole fan, and just wanted to clear the game begrudgingly before I uninstalled it, so played it in the background while doing Jackbox with friends, etc). I decided to clear it and put in the last hours this month (96, but with stretch for idle-time between windows).

If that's still too ambiguous then that's cool, I just wanted to get your judgement call on that one. \:3/

All done! Hope it's not too late but anyway had lots of fun!

Game Monthly Status
ABZÛ February 2017 Achievements (11/12)
HIVESWAP: ACT 1 January 2018 Achievements (43/44)
Roombo: First Blood January 2019 Achievements (16/16)
Purrfect Date December 2018 Achievements (12/32 but completed all chapters)
Finding Paradise May 2019 Achievements (1/1 for completion)
Kathy Rain November 2016 Achievements (20/20)

I loved loved loved 4 out of 6, hated one and was mildly disappointed by the last one so I guess it was a good crop overall

I should have know better than to try Purrfect Date, really. I'm not into visual novels, let alone romantic ones but I thought I'd give it a try for a relaxing change and that was just waaaaay out of my alley lol
Finding Paradise was just meh. The story was overdrawn and predictable and it felt like watching a very very long movie with lots of clicking and walking around but very little actual interacting to do.

My favorites were definitely Abzû and Kathy Rain. So different and yet both so good and original. I will be replaying them both for sure.
