How does Humble bundle work

If you want to use it here, then you'll have to click the little gift symbol next to "redeem", which will give you a link that you can give to somebody else (or yourself) which will include the game :)

You will get the key for the game and you can do with it whatever you want.

A key can be used by anyone, so if you mean if you want to give it away, you can reveal the key and send that to the winner. Gift links do nothing more than generate a web page where the one who you give the link to can reveal the game key for themselves. The only thing that is better in a gift link is that you can see if it was redeemed or not.

Humble Bundle used to link directly to your Steam account and when you clicked Redeem it would lock the game to your account automatically (without displaying the key). Fortunately they've removed that now so it'll only reveal the key, but it's true that they should change the wording so people wouldn't be afraid to click the button. Something like 'Show key' would be much easier.

You can use either the key or the gift link here on SG. They'll both work fine.
I prefer the keys myself - easier for the winner when redeeming, in my opinion. :)

Can I sell or give away my keys?
Humble Bundle products are for personal use only. We do not allow selling or redistributing keys from your purchases. You can gift individual keys to friends using our gifting system, which you can read more about here.

That said, you most likely won't get into any trouble for giving away individual keys. They just don't want people buying hundreds of bundles and reselling later.
