Infernally catchy techno pop, perhaps vaguely gothic but nothing that would worry anyone. ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ But I guess we will be making his-to-ree...♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ Aargh! ♫ Get ♪ out ♫ of ♪ my ♫ head. ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪

Can you resist the lure of the MYSTERY TRACKS? I doubt it. Give in to the groove.

Here's something abrasive I used to cure the synth-pop fever induced by Apoptygma yesterday (see top of this page). This is "dark metal", a copout label but then the music is nowhere near aggressive enough to meaningfully quality as death or black. The guitar dissonances often do sound like the French school of avant black though - Blut aus Nord, Deathspell Omega - at the same time, it feels like old industrial some of the time (eg Godflesh).
The music seemed totally unremarkable to me on first listen but this is a real slow burner, and gets more atmospheric on each listen. Tracks 3 and 4 are particularly superb. The only feature I really cannot stand is the abrupt album ending. I feel there is always some teenage quality to this ("I don't care about what I have done and I don't care about you and you don't understand me and I do what I like with my work, so boo") and I see it as a worthless statement made at great artistic cost. But maybe it actually is an artistic device of briliant genius and I merely do not understand it. Anyway, this is a great record otherwise, even though or especially because it takes time to release its full delicious flavour.
