Japanese shoegaze is my favourite shoegaze, volume umpteenth.
This album is best appreciated as an artistic whole. If interested, be sure to sample at least the first three tracks to get a good idea of the versatility of this band. Delighful Hello Kitty type song titles, too! "Pretty little bag" seems to channel the Beatles, "Raspberry plant" will get you rockin' over a Can/Motorik like rhythm and "Rabbit house" is a melancholic slow tempo swooner up there with the best of them. (Shame the band seem to have removed their individual track videos from Youtube,) By then you have a good idea whether this is for you.

Not sure when I last listend to the first three Muse records... Even the fourth was not that bad. After that they lost it for me...
But the Piano in Sunburn... Just awesome

"We shouldn't be here."
I have always had a soft spot for this EP. It was put together so carefully, using very different songs that perfectly fit together.. The ten-minute centrepiece evokes associations from (inevitably) prog to Led Zep (dramatic Kashmir ambient chords). A sound that is both instantly recognisable and truly varied as this EP's journey proceeds, and all this within a hugely crowded space - "noisy alternative rock" - pure quality.

I got back to listening to The Mountain Goats and their newest album Goths is really great. It's different from their previous albums but still have their very unique style. I especially love Rain In Soho.

Alcest, nice.
I like this, in the same "blackgaze" mould. This is their first EP, which is closer to black than to shoegaze. More recent produce has them moving toward the post-rock field.

I like Lantlos as well. Les Discrets is another good, similar band. (:

That's another lovely project of Neige. Maybe you like Fen as well? Although they are more in the Agalloch vein, the type of atmosphere generated by the music seems close.

Does no one listen to mainstream songs here? o_0 People have commented the ones whose name I have never heard.
