Ah, Skyrim. My friends had been bugging me to play it for months.
I resisted, because I have a tendency to get "sucked into" such games.
Eventually, I gave in, and I ended up clocking maybe 800 hours on it.
There was this glitch which allowed you to wear a certain helmet and a circlet at the same time,
Of course, I took this opportunity to enchant my equipment with 100% magic reduction.
I would then run around the work blasting people's faces with fire without having to worry about mana.
Man that felt great.
That was all before I owned it on Steam though.
I should play it again.

I was going to get it, but decided not to, since it's party turn base rpg.

When I first heard about it in Gameinformer I got psyched, but I'm still going to wait for a sale because I'm cheap and broke. I'm hoping it's going to be more Dragon Age: Origins, and not so much Dragon Age 2.
When I started playing Baldur's Gate, I noticed you could export your character. I would ransack the whole first town (steal everything, kill everyone) and then export and repeat. By the time I decided to play the game for real I had thousands of gold and was a couple of levels higher.

This game is on my wishlist! I look forward to playing it, just like I have been waiting for Undertale and other games.

4-5 years ago, first time i play Mafia (kind like Town of Solem) i had no idea how i suppose to play that. So my first game after 3 turn i was the last mafia with 2 villager left. Those 2 villager keep accusing each other and i just lurk there not knowing what happened. Then they grow tired and give me the trust to make the decision (because i claim villager too, maybe they think i'm innocent/naive/too honest since i'm new to that kind of game). Then i just randomly vote one of those villager and mafia win. Everyone on villager side raging while my fellow dead mafia laughing. Still, i don't know whats just happened. In the end, i end up playing that for 1 more year until i grow tired when it keep adding new role and old player that i know leaving too.
Well, it was a nice game and have good community back then. Link to the website https://epicmafia.com/home

In Throne of Bhaal, after restoring Yaga Shura's mortality and meeting the guy I had my sorceress cast everything she had on him (horrid wiltings, desintegrate, magic missiles) with time stop only for him to get a single point of damage and retreat because that's not where you actually fight him. What ensued was funnier because it was mostly a brute force fight instead of the magic ground zero I had planned in the first place.
In Arcanum I accidentally found some alien looking creature outside a town and my low level character had to run into the town hoping for the guards to help, but they didn't do anything and that was my pc's demise.

It remind me ragnarok online, i was obsessed with that game, i played it on an unofficial server and there was custom objects that you could make with special gems dropped by special monsters, they were really rare, they respawn 2 every hour so i wake up at 4 am to shake for them xD i was like 14 years old. I miss that game,
It's free to play on steam now http://store.steampowered.com/app/215100/ but i prefer to stay with my memories.

As a kid I'd watch my dad play games, and it was always so cool. I remember him going through ravenholm in Half-life 2 and running through hell punching demons in Doom 3. Games I wasn't really allowed to play at the time, but he let me watch him play it regardless. That was good times. :)

My friend and I played System Shock 2 co-op a while back and it was incredibly funny (to us anyway). The video is from my perspective and is edited down to about 10 minutes from the 2+ hours we spent in the game not knowing what was going on.
I know a video might have been exactly what you meant, but I guess you never specified that it couldn't be one, and I figure if a picture's worth a 1,000 words, a 39,540 picture slideshow (659 seconds X 60 frames per second) with an audio accompaniment must be worth at least 50 more.

I don't actually know a whole lot about the game. I just check out whatever I run across for the most part, and I have so many games on my "To Play" list it's crazy. Just not enough time, then when there is time, I'm busy using it on other things, like... giveaways and such, as an example. Three games I have been really waiting for are/were Slain!, Tales of Zestiria, and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (I do hope this one makes it to Steam at some point). Nothing else really coming to mind, but probably a few others too.
I was thinking about the first time I started playing any MMO's, and right around the time World of Warcraft went from Vanilla to Burning Crusades, I began playing. Back then, everything in the game was pretty freaking cool. I hadn't really experienced anything like it before. My favorite thing to do was fishing. I got my level up a bit as a Tauren Druid doing the basic quests in the area, and eventually got to The Barrens. Fishing + The Barrens was very very lucrative at the time... deviate fish were going for good money, and I was raking it in just fishing most of the time early on. Had a great time doing that, and that set me up later to invest heavily into other things and really make a lot of money. The "takes money to make money" thing really paid off early on.
Once I got to Argent Dawn Faction, eventually I was able to run Stratholme on my own. I easily got exalted rank with argent dawn during my time in the Plaguelands. I made lots of money off dungeon rep boosting scraps and the runecloth drop per run in Stratholme was incredible! Was another outlet for making moneys. I ran this place over and over like clockwork as frequently as I could, and eventually won myself a prized mount, Baron Rivendare's Dreadsteed - Deathcharger's Reins - before its removal, wowhead had the drop rate at 0.7% even after the rate was increased (883 drops out of 119915 recorded on just wowhead). The drop rate was under 0.1% when I got mine before the patch to increase the drop rate a tiny bit... At the time it was nearly impossible to get, but I solo ran that dang instance so many times I got everything imaginable from the place... I think they increased the drop rate to around 1% though after Wrath of the Lich King came out, but not too sure about that. I was into getting items and trinkets, and especially rare vanity pets (Disgusting Oozeling was my favorite one) with under the 1% drop rates, and collected quite a few during my time - one of my favorite things to do in MMOs, but this one was truly special for me... I mentioned I liked fishing on the game also. Well, I got some feats of strength Realm Firsts back to back in first to max fishing skill as the cap raised. Nobody else in the realm can get these, so they are one of a kind. Those were pretty special accomplishments for me, out of all the random trivial things I enjoyed doing when I was having fun on WoW.
After the pick up group auto-match crud started happening in Cataclysm, it sorta ruined the game, and they really dumbed it down. I was already upset at how easy the game got after Wrath of the Lich King came out... and it just kept getting worse, and the truly epic weapons no longer mattered really as much, since fairly basic PVP gear became pretty much just as good or better, and was easily obtained. I don't like PvP, and much prefer PvE - it's too restrictive. I like the do your own thing no rules PvP with larger areas though... those kinds of PvP were fun on occasion. I guess you'd call it World PvP areas you could take over or control... never knew what to expect or who or how many would retaliate or join your assault once you stirred things up. I lost interest, since there was less overall realm chemistry because the Looking for Group channel all but died out. I loved getting used to groups, finding out different peoples' strengths and weaknesses, and it was all about a team effort to take down the giants of the 40 man raids. Those days sorta died out with the newer systems, and people started to do their own thing more. Guilds broke down, etc. etc. Other reasons, but those are the main ones I quit playing. Will stop blabbing, but that's one of my MMO experiences I enjoyed while it was in its "younger" days. Got into a few others, but I have said far too much already! Hope the read has been fun and enjoyable for you!

I remember finishing Witcher 1 thinking I had taken the 'good' path, but only having the real impact of my choices revealed then. It was a gut punch to me being used to RPG's usually having an absolute of either good or bad.

RPG is change, 10 years ago, RPG games is difficult, have challenge, very hardcore. Like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale & Planescape: Torment. But you can find a lot fun in the battle! How to use your team, use which skill, which one enemy you should kill first?
Now RPG is become easy, but with the big world to explore, beautiful character. Like Dragon Age, The Witcher. I guess the easy battle system is more suitable now, we have a busy life, and we just want find fun and enjoy the story in RPG games.
But i never forget, when i was young, i spend 2~3 hours, just for a small battle(BG), and when i won, it's so exciting. :p

Gore/horror/rpg would be my preference of game. I have played outlast which is indeed "scary" and i love gore games such as zombie army trilogy, which show explosion of body parts(head and all parts of body). Stealth game is also very interesting. For example, Hitman series MGSV(somehow it became a game tat does not require stealth) but maybe i should start witcher and dark soul series.

looks pretty cool to me. Last time I played a pen and paper d and d, I was a half orc bard monk, with zero singing skills. it was so bad that critical successes were a toss up of either angering all the enemies or stunning them as they covered their ears (and anyone else in the party that didn't make the saving throw); and critical fails usually meant beautiful singing, which of course shocked everyone in the party allowing enemies extra hits

I think my favorite PnP character I'm played was Sir Bob Griffin a Lawful Stupid paladin. He was not a very bright character. (his in If I recall was 4, the party had a dog that was smarter then him) The party he was exploring with were all... well lets say non good, but alas poor bob was too stupid to figure that out. He was also semi immortal it's the only explanation for why didn't die honorably every session, , He did all kinds of suicidal crazy things and come out unscathed. Charging a gelatinous cube is NOT supposed to be a working tactic. Alas in the end Bob ended up with a less then happy end. The party necromancer, mad at Bob for killing every undead minion he raised, managed to find an artifact that open a portal to one of the lower planes, he then tricked Bob into entering to portal, and closed in behind him, Last I knew, poor brave stupid Bob was on the front lines of the Blood War attacking devils and demons alike.

You're not the only one anticipating it.
Despite the early feedback, they seem to be approaching it with quality in mind, and both Neverwinter Nights games had early issues that were later resolved.
As far as stories go..
Once had a PnP party, two rangers, two melees, a cleric, and a mage.
They were fighting a dragon out in the mountains: Two of the party had already fallen (but were still alive), south-east of the dragon. The two rangers were standing west of the dragon with bows at the ready, The mage and cleric were just a square or two apart, a fair bit north of the dragon.
So, badly injured and with 4 enemies left standing, the dragon takes flight, trying to escape northward.
Desperate to keep his xp- I mean, his prey from escaping, one of the rangers lands a barrage of arrows into the dragon's wing- perforating the wing, and no longer allowing the dragon to maintain flight.
Which caused the dragon to fall directly on top of the wizard and cleric, instantly killing them both.
And so, from being able to keep the entire party alive, the ranger guaranteed only the two rangers would live.
Plus side, the ranger did in fact finish off the dragon. :P
I think the moral of most of my PnP stories is, don't ever trust a Ranger not to try and get you killed. :X

I am/was looking forward to this game as well, and still hope it becomes a game worthy of the Forgotten Realms setting. I have played every Forgotten Realms game I could get my hands on, and read a ton of books in that world as well.
So, my claim to shame when it comes to RPGs is the fact that I've never even gotten more than about 1/3 of the way through Morrowind despite spending countless hours playing, messing with mods, etc., and the reason? I can't stop myself from wanting to go in every single building and steal every single thing that isn't nailed down...it's a real problem. I still swear I'll finish it someday - just waiting on that one last major mod package to be finished and then I'll go back in and play it through. Really, I'm not a clepto in real life either! :)

Hello.
A short story of pnp adnd I used to play years ago. One of those which I remember and keep laughing a little bit.
Anyway, I can't recall the scenario or how our group got into this, but at some point, we were stuck in a multi leveled dungeon, where we were supposed to find a precious magic item on each floor. By taking it, we could keep it as a reward, but by removing it from its position, it also unlocked a passage for the next floor.
So, we were in a large room with one visible entrance but still no treasure. Having mapped whatever area on the current floor that we could find and decided that there had to be something in that room, we started searching for triggers, buttons etc
And there it was. By pushing a stone, a very small part of the wall moved away and inside was a big gem like a diamond, with a purple glow. The color seemed like a bad sign, but anyway that gem should be the treasure and the key to get out of there for an exit or a lower floor.
Now, I don't remember much of the rest details, but I remember that as it turned out, the gem was protected (of caurse) with hanging axes or blades and every time something was passing through the wall's hole towards the gem, they were released passing through and cutting it into pieces.
The rest of the story was a big lol. We sacrificed most of our group's weapons and most hands (both player's and npc's). I remember that the DM was super informative of details and he was also making lots of comic-like sound effects with his mouth and making the whole thing hilarious and insane during our panic, as we played so far and it seemed that we were about to lose the game and we couldn't stop laughing with the stupid decisions we were making or the DM's sound effects and generally we couldn't think clearly anymore.
Anyway, I am really looking forward to play this game.

My first PC RPG was Might and Magic 6. I was so confused and enthralled by this game. My worst memory from the game was training up your characters. I was a good portion of the way through the game before I even realized you didn't level up automatically and that you had to speak with trainers to upgrade skills (dayum!). I spent dozens of hours running backwards from enemies and shooting them to kill them. I thought the game was just supposed to be that hard.
Baldur's Gate was amazing but IMO Planescape Torment is pretty much tied with it.
What I loved about Planescape Torment and BG is that they're not really a "hero saves the world" stories but in the end they both turn out to be a very personal stories. IMO Torment did it better. Don't want to go into spoilers but really, the final boss? Amazing.
From modern cRPGs I like DA Origins a lot for the game's mechanics and characters and ME Trilogy (despite it being an action rpg and the ending) for the characters and idea for the story and antagonists (up till the ending).

Hey hey!
Am I the only one excited for this game? Anyway I'll make it very short:
1) Share stories: CRPG, PnP, MMO or FPS anything is fine really.
2) Get in my whitelist.
3) Wait for the incoming SCL giveaway.
Hmm maybe it was indeed too short.
