There's definitely something wrong with you... I'm the one mind blown now.

FO3 pretty much is a shooter. Sure, there were RPG elements, but Bethesda butchered the fuck out of that game.
FO:NV was way more rpg-like than FO3 will ever be, with mods.
Comment has been collapsed.
You can play FO:NV without using guns too, but no guns =/= rpg.
Comment has been collapsed.
Almost every game falls under the 'RPG' category because of at least 1 RPG-like mechanic. LOOT isn't an RPG mechanic, but stats are. It's kind of ridiculous, but I don't think there's a true example of an RPG, because people always say different examples.
Comment has been collapsed.
It used to be RPGs were the only games with more than a token amount of character progression (you played as a character in a story who improved constantly via stats and gear, rather than just a random robot man who ripped off someones arm now and then to get a new gun).
So the word has become interchangable with progressive development. + story in many people's minds Which is kind of wrong, now that developers have wised up and include progression in everything (even puzzle games) but kind of something people should learn to deal with. Much as just mentioning the word Roguelike will instantly bring up billions of Defenders of Justice proclaiming a game is NOT like rogue, even though in most peoples minds its just fine.

So far I agree. I was expecting more character development. I don't like the whole "choose your response" dialogues. I doesn't develop the main character.

I have had few issues with JC2 and win8, there are some issues in settings that are common fixes on many computers

Darksiders too old? the graphics don't look that dated. D:

OP, maybe you should try playing Xbox? :-D Those games are real masterpieces

Console Exclusives are not good in general. So there's no reason to talk about which are better.
Comment has been collapsed.
They give the consoles value, without exclusives, theres no point in the consoles, they are vital for consoles.

Sniper elite v2. I was doing about a mission a day due to the boredom near the end of each mission. I just stopped playing after a while.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh, I'm sorry that I answered his question. And I didn't play on the easiest difficulty and I don't think games are boring. However, this game just wasn't as fun as I thought it would be.
Although I don't know why I'm explaining myself to you, you clearly are quite young.
Comment has been collapsed.
You're clearly quite wrong how young I am.Plus,it's a stealth game,it's supposed to be mildly slow-paced.Sure,you can run&gun no prob, but it just ain't fun that way.Sneaking n skulking around is way more awesome,n prolongs the game quite a bit, considering stages are relatively short and not that open-ended.Unlike SE3. . .now that game is boring, way more than this one, anyways. It does have the ultimate insanity difficulty setting so I'll give Rebellion that.So yeah,i'm kinda of the thought here-deal with it breh.

Deadlight - couldn't finish it. The game has bad unresponsive controls.
Alan wake american nightmare - it just sucks for me.
Dead island - boring, repetitive, frustrating.
Saints row - 3 boring.
The last remnant - just bad.
Just cause 2 - really REALLY boring.
Comment has been collapsed.
Came here to say the Last Remnant. Great game, but after 70 hours I really didn't want to finish it for some reason. But one day I'll reload my savegame and finish it. Soon™

Brütal Legend, I love these game, but I can´t manage to win the last stagefight
Comment has been collapsed.
I have. And I enjoyed it. Story was amazing, clearly inspired by Heart of Darkness by J. Conrad. Open world was very good, shooting was pretty nice but it was also tideous because of constant respawns. But it's not a bad game IMO.
Comment has been collapsed.
I finished it too and it drove me fucking insane with boredom. It's highly repetitive and the open-world is excruciatingly big for how little activity it offers. Couple that with the fast-travel system which is a joke and you get a game in which you do more driving than shooting. And that gets old really fast, given it has the same annoying driving mechanics as the first Far Cry(in which I preferred traveling the pretty high distances on foot, rather than driving those death traps, but here you have no such luxury, cause the distances are FUCKING HUGE). Yes, the shooting is solid, the hunting for diamonds is pretty fun and I gotta say I actually loved those little gimmicks which they took out in Far Cry 3, like not pausing the game when looking at the map, weapons accumulating usage and then jamming right when you needed them most, but it's not enough to keep you entertained for such an enormous campaign Also, the fucking story makes no sense. When you're a mercenary and you get your life saved by the ARMS DEALER you're sent to kill, you're clearly not very good at your job.

I stopped after the first 7 hours of playing. I got bored of the spawning enemies.

+1, the game had alot of interesting features too, tho Far Cry 3 blew it away

The story? Atmosphere takes the cake! And music... masterpiece.

The Witcher. I want to continue that game but just put it down and haven't picked it up since. Same with X-COM: EU playing Long War mod and it's brutal. The vanilla game is too easy but LW is unforgiving. May have to start a new game and try researching tech a little differently.

+1
I still have to beat 2nd one and the 3rd one. But I'm waiting forever for the BioWare Points to drop price cause I want to buy all the story DLC's. And I'm not gonna pay for them five times as much as I paid for the game lol.

yeah ME is great, i finished ME1 three times, ME2 two times and ME3 one time, because i didnt kept my saves, still woth it
Comment has been collapsed.
There's several I haven't finished just cause I have the attention span of a peanut, but I'll get back to them sooner or later like I always do.
As for games that I couldn't finish regardless of my attention span, the only one off the top of my head would have to be Prototype. The game was very repetitive. I don't really mind repetitive games as long as I'm interested in the story or characters, but with Prototype the story wasn't interesting enough to keep me hooked and none of the characters were particularly likeable, so the gameplay ended up being not interesting enough to keep me by itself.
Now that I think on it a bit more, Dead Island is another I can't finish, and Dead Island Riptide will probably be the same. The story is pretty lame, and Wilson from Cast Away is more interesting than any of the game's characters. That gameplay though, my my that gameplay is massive amounts of fun to me. Only reason I couldn't finish the first Dead Island is cause I got stuck at some point in the game and ended up giving up on it. I'm enjoying Riptide right now, but I'm sure I'll get stuck at some point on that one too.

Half finished games which will never be completed. :P
I would like to go to Australia in Deus Ex: The Fall. While not a great game, I was still having fun, but now my character is full augmented and the intro areas give me no challenge at all.

Fallout New Vegas: Because of some mods, save game corrupted; i can't continue main quest
Bioshock series: Rare games which i experienced motion sickness
A Valley Without Wind 1-2: Concept is good but not appealing; so quit playing
Alan Wake: Somehow i couldn't like it

But very very short, like 5 hours to beat, its not the worst.

There's only a couple of games that I couldn't bring myself to finish.
Armada 2526. There's a whole slew of reasons this was a disappointment, one of the biggest being the movement restriction. I was looking forward to a game where I could control, at least in part, as much territory as possible and just generally be running an empire, but no. Instead what I got was a game where you had X amount of time to play, and if you hadn't won by then, tough luck.
Darksiders, I have to agree, was painfully boring. I stuck with it long after it stopped being fun just to see if it'd pick up again, but it never did.
There's also Witcher, which bothered the hell out of me with its ridiculous combat mechanics, but I do plan on getting back into it for the sake of Witcher 2.

I like most of the games that you listed, one game that I could say that I had a similar experience with is GTA4, I have tried to beat it numerous times on multiple platforms but I find the story to be very shallow and boring and the gameplay to be too clunky. I know it is one of the highest rated games of all time, but in my opinion it's not even in the top 5 GTA games.

I loved VVVVVV as well. But +1 for Fez. It's so boring and overrated.

GTA SA: The last mision is so loong and hard...
Having the same problem but then again, had the same problem with GTA III
Comment has been collapsed.
what GTA SA is the easiest GTA i have ever played :( (only had to redo the lowrider comp mission thing) last mission should be pretty easy, i guess gta III last mission is a bit harder but still isn't that hard you should be able to do that in a few attempts. But maybe i need to replay this on PC, maybe the PC versions are harder
Comment has been collapsed.
To be honest it's the repetition that gets to me. You can't save mid-mission in GTA so it's back to the beginning with you when you fail. Not knocking the GTA franchise, I always have fun when I play them. Thankfully you don't have to finish the game to enjoy it.
Comment has been collapsed.
How did you get on with GTA 1 where u couldn't save for a the whole level ;) the missions are pretty short and easy in SA so I see it as a good thing you can't save during it & don't think there is any need too I can't imagine having to do a mission more than twice in that game so don't see repetition being an issue. I see so many people play RPG & other games where they just save every 5 minutes so death or such as no consequence they just go back back to the save & then gloat with their 100% victory rate etc which I think is bulls =P that's why I like GTA 2 were you had to spend 50,000 to save to stop people just saving all the time and encourage you to play with consequence rather than happy day scenario

About the only one I can say for sure is Super Hexagon as well, but that's because it actually gives me motion sickness.
About anything else I'll get to someday. I just at times have the attention span of a gnat or decide oh hey I want to play this sort of game instead.

"When I try to play it my friends ask me to play _____ with them." pretty much the reason I didn't finish some single player games on Steam.

Agama gama style - game what doesnt exist
Fallout new vegas - :)
KSP - :)
And GTA complete pack :D
And sniper elite :D

There are a few that have bored/frustrated me, but I may be willing to go back to them at some stage.
Aquaria = Played it for a couple of hours, made me want to play something else instead.
Braid = This game made me want to pull my hair out
Divinity II = I think I got 4 or 5 hours in and found it super tedious.
Hector = I don't like the humour
Legend of Grimrock = I will admit the game is good, I think it may not suit my taste though
Comment has been collapsed.
Man, I loved Hector: Badge of Carnage. It is very British and sometimes the phrases confused me for that fact, but I really enjoyed the characters and gameplay.

Braid is pretty good I'm also stuck in that need to give it another go at some stage might see what i didn't before

List your games that you've put hours of gameplay but still couldn't finish it after weeks or months since start because how boring it was.
Here's mine:
Deus Ex Human revolution - boring storyline and setting, gameplay is too repetitive.EDIT: I finished it :D
Just Cause 2 - bad storyline, bad driving engine
Darksiders - just boring
Final Fantasy VII - stuck at Chocobo Quest
Super Hexagon - It's too damn hard! EDIT: Finished it recently :D
