The Cozy Gaming Corner desperately needs a little bump!
So, here's a little cozy giveaway for Berry People that ends on Jan 10th (which happens to be my Cakeday!)
PS: The GA is protected by SGTools. The rules are secret but the main requirements are: level 3+, RCV ratio > 0.8, Number of won games < 1000

Bump for the European timezone peeps who are just waking up, hopefully without too much of a hangover ;)

Oh yeah, had it the wrong way around.
That percentage is pretty high for me because I started doing giveaways when seemingly everything excluded RU/BY and I didn't know my way around SteamDB and region restrictions in general yet.
Thank you, I'm in now! :)

Sounds cozy to me ;)

Sure! I meant I never heard of that Python library before, looks interesting.
Beside its namesake, nothing is related to the puzzle.

I'm kind of new at this, and I am interested in this ga, but I can't figure out the right 5-character ga code. I'm sure I may need to "esrever" the order of whatever characters I come up with, but I'm not coming up with 5 to begin with. Help/Hint? (ps - love cats, have two of them, Allie, and Dani) 😸
Edit: I have tried combining 3 and 2 char in various orders and sub-orders (rev some, not rev some, rev order of groups, etc), but not working.
Gotta go to store, be back later...

You can currently grab The Longing for around 7 bucks if you already own Growbot. Which a bunch of people might have from Jingle Jam or a related giveaway.
I really shouldn't, but I kinda wanna grab it ...

I need a new 30+ hour game to sink my teeth into ... torn between Grow: Song ot the Evertree, Wylde Flowers and Borderlands 3 (lol). Borderlands is a turn-off-your-brain and watch numbers go up type of game that's why it feels cozy to me.
Anyone know if either Grow or WF have a lot of micro management going on? That's the opposite of what I want right now ...
Comment has been collapsed.
I only played WF a little on my gf's account but it felt pretty chill. Quests and exploration.
Not sure what you mean by micro-management but I guess you mean stressful time-sensitive stuff and it didn't feel that way to me.
And hey I get how Borderlands would feel cozy lol violence non-withstanding it's the kind of game where you just don't have to worry too much about what you're going to do next.
Comment has been collapsed.
Lol yes sorry you got it right! I meant the management of all my resources, worrying about crops too much or money or time passing or my affinity with npcs going down because I didn't talk to them in a day ... the reason why I don't find many farming sims to be relaxing (while still enjoying them tons).
Thank you for the little WF review!
Comment has been collapsed.
I get it. The world is a stressful place already so when personal things also get troublesome, it adds up.
I have used games and game worlds to escape my anxiety since childhood so I can understand.
I hope real life gets better soon and in the meantime have fun in WF

Nextfest came and went really quick (didn't even know it was on until Sunday!) but I still managed to try a few games and here are some cozy/chill ones I can recommend, beside Cozycat... sorry Copycat :D:
Albatroz (Demo still available): a cool backpacking adventure game
SUMMERHOUSE (Demo still available): a pretty building game without all the hassles of the usual building game
Furnish Master (Demo still available): one of 4 or even 5 games in the diorama style in this event, for some reason, but by far the coolest and the prettiest. Also includes a story mode already and a sandbox so you can just pick items and decorate away without any specific goal or limit.
Night Stones (Demo still available): looks like a fun little exploration and fetch quest game. Reminded me a little of a Short Hike and it's very cute. There is a little bit of sneaking around behind plant creatures to "kill" them in the demo but I don't think there's going to be combat in the main game.
Anything you played or checked that seemed chill and wholesome?

Nextfest felt crammed between Pirates vs Ninjas and the Remote Play Together fests. We're not getting a lot of breathing room between events this year ...
Already had my eyes on Summerhouse and Night Stones, but added Albatroz, thank you for pointing it out!
Until Then Visual Novel with minigames that looks super up my alley. Subject matter might be too heavy for many people to be considered cozy, but I love a bit of drama and mystery in my cozy games.
Botany Manor Botany care taking sim while exploring your very pretty manor :) I don't really see the immersive sim aspect (so far) so I wonder what that tag is about lmao ...
Lightyear Frontier Farming sim with the twist that you're a mech :D The environments and open world look absolutely stunning.
Demos for all three games are still available

Yeah. I basically missed out almost entirely because Lunar Fest was featured on my store page the entire time.
I get it, they'd rather push sales events than Nextfest because they don't make money off Nextfest but it's a bit of a shame
They all look really cool. I'm going to give the first two demos a play. Not sure about the Farming Mech for myself because the mech first person screenshot make me anxious for some reason (best not to question it when triggers happen lol) but it's a neat twist on the usual genre.
Thanks for the recommendations

Right, and Lunar Fest was going on at the same time as well ... 100% agree with you. I like to participate in events as well but am getting a little burned out on them.
Haha completely fair, but I was thinking the exact opposite! I'm looking forward to the first person farming. Really enjoy that we get more and more variety in recent years when it comes to farming sims :)

Me too. People are being very creative and not just cloning Stardew Valley anymore, it's really cool.
I got stuck in the demo of Until Then due to a bug but Botany Manor is a keeper.

Maybe you can love those (i didn't take the time to try them for now):
Everholm
Magical Delicacy
Southfield
Spirit City: Lofi Sessions
Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge
Minami Lane

Nice selection.
I think I checked out Everholm but didn't play the demo for lack of time before the end of Nextfest.
It's cool that so many devs are keeping the demos up. I don't get those devs who don't, tbh.
Spirit City: Lofi Sessions looks really chill and especially useful, thanks

Of the few I tried, and not already mentioned, I was positively impressed by:

According to gg.deals' search, only A Little To The Left and TOEM are on Gamepass and have the Steam tag "cozy".
A Little To The Left, Homestead Arcana, Mineko's Night Market and New Super Lucky's Tale are on Gamepass and have the Steam tag "cats".
A Short Hike, Genesis Noir, GRIS, Maquette, Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Tell Me Why are on Gamepass and have the Steam tag "beautiful".
You will have to browse the lists for "on Gamepass and has Steam tag cute" or "on Gamepass and has Steam tag casual" yourself (no links because of rules):
/games/?subscription=108665%2C228236&tag=81
/games/?subscription=108665%2C228236&tag=10
I've seen Planet of Lana, Unpacking, Ori and the Blind Forest, Jusant and Tunic on there at a glance for example.
Obviously this doesn't necessarily mean they're all cozy, but I hope you can narrow down your search this way.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah I can say with certainty that Tunic isn't cozy. Don't let its cutesy look fool you. It has some absoute brutal combat with the annoying thing where you lose your money when you die.

Oooh I didn't think of looking at gg's tags, that's a good idea. I'll do just that.
I have already played (and loved) TOEM, Gris, A Short Hike, Unpacking and Tell me Why but Jusant, Mineko's Night Market and Planet of Lana seem right up my alley so I'll start with those.
Obviously this doesn't necessarily mean they're all cozy, but I hope you can narrow down your search this way.
I don't necessarily mind a little combat but I just don't feel like combat heavy games and I'm too stressed for anything horror themed, which seems to be everywhere these days.
Thanks for the tips and for taking the time to make suggestions Waxy :)

Welcome to the Cozy Zone, the corner of SG dedicated to sharing and discussing cozy games. Get yourself a blanket, some hot chocolate or herbal tea, get comfy in your chair and enjoy the good vibes and the good gibs too.
I'm certain most of you are familiar with the concept of "cozy gaming/games" by now, but to avoid any confusion here are some excerpts I stole from articles written by people who are better with words than me, which should give you the idea:
Links: 1 2 3 4
With that out of the way and skipping the whole "in these hard times we all need more cozy time in our lives" preamble (heh), let's get straight to what the Cozy Zone is
supposed to beabout:❣ My giveaways of cozy games. To be honest (at first) I just needed a place for my next gibs, as it so happened that I was in possession of some amount of keys for this particular type of games, but instead of going with just another one-time train I decided to make it an ongoing thread. So
for nowthe plan is to do GAs for this thread with games of the cozy kind on a somewhat regular basis.✽ Your giveaways of cozy games. Everyone is welcome to join me in making GAs for games that fit the theme. No strict guidelines, use your own discretion when deciding if the game is good for this thread. In general, fitting games usually have one or more of these tags on Steam: Relaxing / Family Friendly / Cozy / Wholesome / Cute / Comedy; and here are some tags that these games usually don't include: Violent / Gore / Survival / Psychological Horror / Hentai / Dark / War / Military / Dystopian (these are just some examples of some of the most popular tags). In any case, if a game seems cozy enough to you, feel free to give it away. Just make your GAs private (aka invite-only).
Special Cats tag exception: as a result of the FCDSCGC-2023 event, cats were proclaimed the mascot animal of our thread and thus any game that has a 'Cats' tag on Steam is allowed to be given away here, whether it's cozy or not.
Every active giveaway will be featured in the OP (if I'm around at the time it's running).
☯ General discussion of cozy games. Random cozy games discoveries, thoughts on latest games you've played, discounts alerts and everything else related to games of the cozy kind.
◒ Recommendations for cozy games. Do share your favorite games, well known or not. Hidden gems are especially welcome though, cause many niche games often go largely unnoticed.
✧ Cozy events. So, events have become a semi-regular occurrence in our thread, and I'm looking to make them an integral part of the Cozy Zone experience moving forward. If you want to host an event in the thread which requires some coordination or have an idea for a future event, please contact me on Steam; otherwise, feel free to post your cozy trains, celebratory GAs, puzzles and whatnot at any time. You can also contribute by either partially or fully sponsoring the prize pool and/or by donating cozy games for events (as I might struggle to fully cover these prize/GAs-wise on my own, so some help is always appreciated; again, contact me for this).
If you wish to just bump the thread, feel free to so, but keep in mind that the recommended way to bump is the cozy way, which is achieved by posting:
♦ pics of your adorable pets ♦ pics of your cozy gaming space ♦ pics of anything cozy or cute ♦ light-hearted memes ♦ links to relaxing music (make sure to check out our own cozy playlist ♫ too) ♦
One rule in this thread: good vibes only, so please let's make it comfy for everyone and keep the negativity to the minimum.
