Steam Gift possibly not sending?

So, I am trying to send a winning gift to someone via email/steam, but I am not sure if it's working.

I sent it via email and filled out the "to/from" details, and it said that it would change from "sent to opened" or something. But when I go back in my inventory, the item is still there and says nothing about being sent. I tried 3 different times but it is still in my inventory, I think.

Did I do something wrong?

Gift you sent will stay in your inventory until the receiver accept the gift. There's should be a text that the gift is being sent to the receiver name/e-mail.

it displays
sent to xxxxxxxxxx in inventory
It will disappears after the receiver accepted it

Hm. It doesn't say sent to or anything even similar to that. The only info is the regular description. :/ Maybe I can just friend them, trade it and unfriend the person if it comes down to it. I just don't want to have to do that haha
