Every stalker costs 20 dollars in US, while Shadow of Chernobyl costs 7 euros (1,74 on sale), Clear Sky costs 10 euros (2,50 on sale) and the last one costs 20 euros (5 on sale) and also, MW3 and BO1 costs 40 dollars in USA but in Europe MW3 and BO1 cost 60 Euros (i've never played bo1, it's too expensive for me lol) and the only one fair priced game is Skyrim Legendary Edition, 40 euros here and 60 dollars in US, what is going on?

Publishers can decide on prices, and this doesn't always result in equal prices for other regions.

Steam can say "Nope" and publisher is screwed, but this will not happen since steam wants money too.

That is the bad part about living in Europe. Best would be if we were all gamebuyingrussians jobhavingLuxembourgers etc etc

But I am still happy - wait. That explains why that guy from USA traded me CoD Ghosts for Skyrim LE. That was a clear win win lol :D

Might want to review your stereotypes. The job situation here in Luxembourg isn't that great anymore either...

All European purchases must be charged with VAT ( 15-21% tax ) , US Byers do not pay VAT yet but Senat is workin on this issue lol

Still, prices in Europe are often more expensive than the US prices (Including taxes).

This is nothing. Darkspore was $19 in the US and E49 in EU :)).
This is one of the main reasons I usually buy games on sales or I buy retail Steam (this one's cheaper then games on sale LOL).
Publishers have the right to decide how much a game costs so there's nothing Valve can do.
So wait for sales or make friends over the ocean and from Russia. Just make sure those games from Russia aren't region locked :D

there are some games that are more expensive in Russia, Arma 3 for example and in Russia you pay like 70-80 bucks for a ps3 game which is really expensive

"some", but almost all games are cheaper only thing that matters is does it have region lock or not.

PS/Xbox games that cost 60-70 euros in Romania are considered cheap. Newly released games sometimes cost even more.
Steam games that come as a retail edition are very cheap. An Ubisoft games are cheap but they need UPlay. I don't mind it but some do so they prefer Steam.

Answer is easy. Price are different because we-customers allow it. If everyone from Europe would say "screw you publisher for treating us like this" they would change prices to more fair.

Just like publishers said about Australia - they pay more because they are willing to pay more. If Aussies wouldn't buy any new game for those $80, nobody would try to sell them for that kind of money.

+1. We also allow pre-orders and day-one DLCs.

but in Australia they have Australian Dollars, and they are cheaper than the regular dollars i suppose?

The Australian Steam Store uses US dollars though. It's just the fact they like to charge us more, because previously people would always accept such prices, back when the Australian Dollar was only worth 60 US cents, which hasn't been the case for a number of years now. That and the fact that the retail stores ask publishers to price match their prices, else they'll go out of business.

I hate it too.
I didn't buy LA Noire @ summer getaway sale because it costed € 10 while it was $ 3,75 in the US (= € 2,82).
I feel ripped off when they do something like that.

The reason because they do this is for the "regional value". People in Europe willing to / able to pay more for it so they ask more.

I know prices for Ireland are a bit over an euro higher than they are for customers in Estonia. So they aren't even the same in all of Europe

It's normal that prices are different.
Currency exchange rates don't tell the whole story.
People in the US get lower wages than people from Belgium.
Minimum wages of Belgium is € 1500 /month (or more) for 38 hours/week.
While in the US it's something like $ 1000 (= € 750).
Life in Belgium is also more expensive so you can't say we earn twice as much but we do earn more.
It's fair and it isn't.

minimum wage in Poland = 376eur/month ( converted from local PLN) , still paying in euro on steam

If they really care about this the prices would reflect the minimum wages but they don't.
The minimum wage is lower in the Eastern European countries compared to Western European countries but the prices are the same.

It is all about control. You allow this to happen. Bypass region restrictions and you get locked out of trading.
