I can't even comprehend how living in a non-universe would be like, so yeah I want to!

Universe is expanding. So you would end up just being in black nothingness.

But are you sure your love would last for eternity? As mortals we like to imagine love lasts forever but so many people clearly show us that even with finite lifespans it can fade.

Sure, sounds like fun...Until you realize--what if the world blows up and you're drifting through space, get pulled into a sun, and burn for all eternity but yeah...

I think if i was immortal but could die in one way like killing myself then yes i would

Inmortality?, hell no. Too many inherent problems with that. I dont like the idea of watching the universe die. Besides, imagine we suffer an apocalipsis and you are the last human on earth... good luck with that.

Eternal youth on the other hand, sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Immortality as in "I can't stop existing even if the universe as we know it stops existing"?
That would kinda suck, just "being" in nothingness, then again, that might exactly be what death is.

Immortality is probably a curse more than anything, in the long run anyway.
I would still go for it, being alive holds potential.

Sure would.

Just so that after 500 years I could talk to some guy and say "Back in my day we used controllers for video games!"

And then go on a long winded speech about how new games are more and more dumbed down and simplified.

Our frail human minds would not be able to even handle the concept of immortality, let alone be burdened with enduring it.

So no, I don't want to be an immortal, aimless husk.

It's pretty much the same thing as being bound to a chair for eternity, no?

I'd love to be immortal, I worry about having to put an end to my amazing life everyday, but if everyone were immortal, there could only be as many children as people dying by tragedies, or Earth would be overpopulated.

Personally I would not like immortality. Seeing all you're friends, family, friends of family. die over and over again. never being able to get close to someone without losing them in the long run would be endless torture.

If it's immortality but not invulnerability then yes. But again, I'd like to have a way of repairing damage to my shell. And let the ultimate free-for-all begin. Of course without the loved one also being immortal it's a fate worse than death (which at least can still be achieved). It could be fun hunting down and devouring all the others aspiring immortals (and mortals alike) together. Analogies with WoD and Dark Eldar obligatory for such a topic.

living forever could get boring
but think about all the people you could meet, how many different ideas and opinions,
how much knowledge you would gain, how many places you could explore,
how much technology and cultures would change, how much you could improve yourself...
i would hate living for all eternity, but we are fairly entertaining beings...
i would be okay with just living until the end of "us"

Is there a giveaway for this? I think a chance to win immortality is worth at least 20 points, and should give you the equivilant $20 credit to your contributor value once the winner has confirmed that they are now immortal.

And what happens now when a loved one dies? You grieve and mourn, but ultimately you remember the great memories and times you shared together. Immortality wouldn't change this, it just means you would be able to make memories and have experiences with a much larger amount of people.

Where do I sign up?

Condoms and don't get married. Problem solved.

... but seriously, I agree with kataztrophik. Living with grief is tough but I don't see how dying with it is any better.

The thought of being able to let my loved ones live forever through my memories also appeals to me. Beats me dying and leaving no one who even remembers them. If someone actually got the opportunity to live forever, it would seem almost disrespectful to those you've loved not to take it if you ask me.

Immortality has its good and bad sides. You will live forever but!Life will get boring, the people you love will die...so basically I don't want to be immortal if I will be alone! If the people I love become immortal, then I'll have notting against living forever!I just don't want to be alone...lonely for thousands, millions even maybe billions of years :(
