Buying this Panzer bundle?
I liked panzer general, but I dont know if i have the willpower to play something like it now. I think one of the things that can make or break a game of this kind is the interface, how clean, informative and quick\fluid it is?
Also do the game use RNG? I am kinda tired of bullshit "this unit is so superior to the other and you have 80% chance of winning" then you lose, multiple times.
Edit: I should had posted this on your other post "i already own it"

Information is quite clear. There's a bit of a learning hump at the start, but afterwards, it's not hard to get an idea about what's going on. The game is not a looker, but it's quite quick to play (I actually prefer it when games like these have very limited animations, as that speeds up the game as opposed to games with very elaborate animations which can often be very slow, and this game hardly has any animations at all ;) )

There's a setting for RNG. "Normal" which means that there's a bit of randomness (if it says that you'll deal 4 damage, it might mean that you deal 3 or 5 on a regular basis, or 2 or 6 more rarely, with the average being 4), limited, or none. Combat is not an all or nothing kind of affair, much like in Panzer General both sides damage each other. With "normal" the randomness is well within the real of realistic.

Thank you for this explanation. I also prefer games without animation or quick ones. If the RNG is normal, or if it isnt and can be disabled, its a godsend. Xcom and Europa Universalis have alot of bullshit RNG. I think they fixed that in the EU4. Warframe also had that, the developers said nothing was wrong, to a month later admitting there was a problem and actually making it behave like it should.
I dont know if I specified properly about the interface. Sometimes games of this kind have too much unnecessary info, not enough, or displayed in poor format. A example: if the game have values like soft target (humans), hard target (vehicles), theres no reason to show the hard target value if you are in a prompt to attack a soft one. It need to be dynamic and only show the necessary ones at the time, and if possible give the user the option to a verbose detail if he wants on a key press or something like that.
Even without much information, it could be cumbersome to look depending on how its presented. Hovering above\overlapping other crucial things, or the art style of the icons\number make things confusing. I had to use a font mod in EU4 because the text was so tiny.

With the interface you do get the most important information about a unit at a glance by just mouse-overing it, and if you're trying to initiate an attack you get the information about the attacker & defender. You also get estimated damage done to each side.
For an example you can see in this screenshot that the Soviet Katysha (artiller) is attacking the Panzerjäger IB (AT). The artillery will take 0 damage and the AT will take 1 damage. It also shows that you can attack the infantry, and where you can move.
If you want more detailed information (the stuff you don't need at a glance but which can be handy) you just right-click on something

This was really hard to create! I was in the middle of it :p Didn't even knew the game!

xD No, I don't! There's a lot more games out there that I don't have on my wishlist. Plus quite some are games that are upcoming, or dlc's (that I'm interested in) and season passes. And a few games which got removed from Steam that I can't bear to remove. Plus I just have a wide taste in genres of games. :)
But a while ago I was cleaning up my wishlist, removing some titles I was not too interested in anymore. But I stopped half way. This will probably be one of the titles I would remove since I'm generally not interested in war games nor strategy.

Interestingly, it does not equal the Gold bundle, it is missing two add-ons out of the 17. First time ever I see this at a Bundle Stars pack like this; they are usually either the actually full package or much more partial like this nearly-full approach.
Also, the EU price really sucks this time around.

Unfortunately no "Tier $1" as in the poll - and too late to edit that now!

Looooooooooooooooooooool!! Totally out of habit because of the HB threads! xD
EDIT: My poll is even more messed up than that. First I added the "Yes, I'm ready for war! >:3", but then I thought I would include some tier options and forgot to edit it out again. Shrug. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yup! As I wrote in OP: 1 game & 15 DLC's. All DLC's belonging to the base game in tier 1!
edit: oh, its just bundle stars. lets check the one im online for^^
:D hahaha! Yeah, the HB is more exciting^^

wtf,,,, the game has a lot more DLCS so you are paying 20 for half game .... :(

Hm, I don't think that's quite fair. You do get a lengthy campaign in the main game. One that will take you a good 20h+ to play through. The rest of the DLC just gives you more campaigns, it's not cut content.
If we look at playtime per DLC, the 5€ DLC will give you roughly 8-10h of gametime each, while the 15€ DLC will give you 20h+ of gametime.

yay i know... i have the game and a lot of hours into it but.... dont like a bundle that costs 20€ that gives u only some dlcs... :( at least some goty edition could be nice xD

Oh yeah, I did not even notice that some of the DLC is missing. At least it's now a "bundle" on steam as well, so the more you own, so you can buy everything you're missing at a not insignificant discount (here the bundle discount is 43% on steam)

well must be this bundle http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/1580/
but only 1 game and rest dlc...
well we are talking here about Panzers...
Hans, get the flammenwerfer...

I love wargames but I'm tired of supporting devs who want to DLC the hell out of us players.
Why not charge $30 for the game and actually have a the full game? That many DLC's is just blaitant abuse of the concept imho.

Exactly and your avatar is quite fitting for the majority of the DLC practices!

I thank you kindly, and apply the Blue Heart status for that comment :P

I am not saying its the case here since I havent played, but what if the original game IS the full game, and the DLC are just that, add-ons? I can cite many DLCs who arent necessary for the game experience at all, and is a after-thought that I wouldnt consider necessary for the enjoyment of the original game.

Yes I totally agree, and I havent played it either, but from the looks of the many dlc's it gives me the impression if you want to play all of it it'll cost an arm and a leg at regular price. I question their sales strategy, just feels like they're trying to milk people.

I will point a few things here: pricing is good, even without the two large expansions.
Each DLC is basically a 8-12 scenarios campaign. You can import the core army from one Grand Campaign DLC to another and from one US Corps DLC to another. US Corps adds more equipment to the game, too. The Grand Campaign scenarios were better than the ones in the german campaign from the base game.
Will also point that with Soviet Corps the development stopped on Panzer Corps and the devs are working now on Panzer Corps 2, a TBS that will make use of a 3D engine (will see how this will turn). Due to the fact that Slitherine publishes games that are targeting a rather small niche, they can afford to decide the pricing, knowing too well that those fans will buy their product, while lowering the price will bring just a few extra sales.

That's the most important insight. These kinds of games will never be in a normal bundle or discounted cheaply in the way many are used to. This is about the best deal one can expect. There is nothing better waiting down the road.

GB prices are as follows
Buy tier 1 - £2.89 for 2 products
Buy tier 2 - £4.79 for 7 products
Buy tier 3 - £9.49 for 12 products
Buy tier 4 - £14.29 for 16 products

For those who want all the DLCs: The publisher Slitherine is currently offering the Gold package for 20 € on its website. It's DRM free, but members there can also generate Steam keys for the products they own.
