👇 Copied from the succinctly well written post from last year.

If you, as a man, or, really, as a person, feel like the world is too heavy to carry on your own shoulders, talk with someone! Your family, your co-worker, some random guy on the internet; anyone! It doesn't even matter much if they do actually care. Just talk your heart and mind out if you need to do so.

Silence kills more than words can ever do.

Happy Men's Mental Health month!

Did you know June is Men's Mental Health month? :)

A what now??😯
Obviously...I had been waiting for someone to post about it!😤
Its not about a date for me, Im a humanist! I care for all always🫂🌏
🥔🥔Im just a humble Starch enthusiast🥔🥔

This topic is so important but so little talked, I'm glad as the years go by more and more people care and learn how much mental health can impact everything in your daily life, being you the one affected or someone close to you (and sometimes even both).

Here's my lvl 2, ending in 2 days contribution, as a way of giving a bump and spreading awareness - better late than never i guess

This is a big deal and it needs more attention. Men usually are not able to be open about how they feel. The word should be spread.

Thank you so much about this thread, I wasn't aware about the month. It matters a lot to me, recently I haven't been feeling so well mentally and I'm still looking for ways to get through it. I wish all the best to everyone else who is also struggling with their mental health.

That's sucks Zlia (in the genuine, wow that sucks commiseration kinda way). My husband has been chronic ill for 5 (6?) years, and I can understand just... continuing on with stuff.

But sometimes a cookie helps (today was sushi fish, mmm). Hope you can eventually find something that makes your day a bit less whatever.

and how you see it, if i can ask... ?
i mean, it's something bad or just a normal thing?

do you care about it? ... do you care about us ?

feel very very free to ignore me :P

...and i guess you're not alone..., i'm too cryptic as usual.
i was asking you if the fact that your "opinion has not changed" was a positive or or negative thing.

i've also asked you if you care "about us" meaning this website, doing giveaways, discussing... if Sg is something you like to check to see if anything has happened and so on...

"My opinion has not changed" is a neutral statement. However, since it is a negative opinion, you could say that it is a negative thing that it has not changed.

Since I've been on SteamGifts for 12 years, checking on it is part of my regular routine. Therefore it would upset me if it were to shut down for whatever reason, so you could say that I "care". I also care about people playing their wins since I see it as disrespectful not to do so. Winning giveaways is irrelevant for me and, considering my mental state (I don't feel "happy" about anything, so how is me playing a game meant to make people "happy" any different from someone not playing it at all? <.< ), I should just stop entering stuff completely regardless of how I feel about the game given away, but I have not been able to fully break that habit yet. If in the discussions someone asks a question I can answer or I have something "relevant" (or "funny") to say, then I will reply.

thanks. a. ton.

also, imo those are two different "happys" and you don't have this ..."habit". added you on Steam so that can invite you to a small Group where can freely win as much as you want need wish etc etc. if you say "hi" once accepted, i'll quickly send you the invite.

feel, obv, very free to deny it!

I've been diagnosed with depression for a while as well and I don't really know what to do for myself or anyone else. Not sure I will ever be free from my general dislike of life, but eventually at some point I learned to care about extremely small things. The minor things like I managed to beat a tough boss in a game or something, just trying to celebrate little wins in my day even if no one else will notice, which could be as simple as writing it down in a list somewhere. I think a lot of what I struggle with is the self doubt about if I hurt family with my actions kept me from the darkest place as you described in the previous thread and it's taken a while to get away from that mindset. I don't think I'm out of depression entirely, but I am not broken as I once was, so if you want someone to talk with sometime, add me on Steam.

It may not help, but at least I can provide some company.

tbh I agree with you, talking to others doesn't help me much either but for a different reason.
My mind is very certain of what my perspective is, if my mind says i suck I DO suck. No amount of positive pick me ups or rationality or other blah blah can convince me otherwise.
And on the rare instance where I do open up to people, I have this looming regret of having overshared post that talk!😖

But, I also observe that it does help a lot of people. Bottled up emotions negatively impacts people, me included. Going to therapy (in my opinion) isn't to find that blueprint to end all sadness or dread.
It is to find ways to cope with it and to challenge my bleak perspectives about life, people, whatever. And who knows...as a bonus one could learn to adopt a healthy routine as an anchor, to get on with life. However I have to be receptive about learning to undertake new changes to my thought process, my actions, as well as the little things in life. Help in any form is useful but at the end... It is my choice.

Some people can ride that bicycle of life easy peasy...I definitely cant.
I could choose to ride normally, not learning from my mistakes... pointlessly trying and falling and hurting myself numerous times in the process. Its upto me to get the training wheels attached and to try and try and try again. Or better yet, I could even seek help from someone (pro) who can help me practice it!
Later on, In hindsight most cyclists do mention who easy it is...it wasn't when they set out to learn it!
The issue with this whack analogy is that learning to cycle is an option, life isn't! So keep going!!😁🤝

Note: these are just my thoughts after reading your comment, and not directed as a solution for you. I or the people here dont know you. Only you do. We are all very different and so our journeys are, aswell.

If anybody needs an open ear, a piece of advice, or just someone to talk to, feel free to reach out to me at any time of the year, not just this time. I used to do this for many years and even provided advice for relationships. We need to stand for each other as men and help build up each other when times are tough.
