Thanks to everyone that took part and added to my event, but the competition is not over yet. We still have to decide on who goes home with a gold medal. I picked a champion from each nation that participated, and then looked at their wishlists. The top most wanted game was also a game none of athletes had yet, so the choice was easy. To find out what they are competing for, check the bottom of the post.

Winner: Portugal!

That concludes this years events. Just trying to sort one key out that IG had messed up (if anyone has a spare key for Pixel Arcade that they want to trade for let me know), and waiting for one winner to log back on, but otherwise everything seems to be in order.

Here's the list of our final athletes and their entries that made them able to compete for a gold medal:

Thank you.

Don't forget to mention the women team biathlon silver, and perhaps even more importantly our first men's slalom gold since Ingemar Stenmark in 1980. The greatest alpine skier of all time.

Not on the men's side at least. But Lindsey Vonn might still catch up to him. :)

Someone told me at work, i didn't believe him. And now i still don't believe it :) Can't remember even a single win at winter olympics. Our 2 bronze medals were before my time. If they win gold i might have to change my favourite olympic memory :)

A Swede winning a medal didn't surprise me, but that one being Nilsson did. I thought her more of a sprinter / shorter distance skier.

Yes, she is!

Appearently though, according to the commentators it's more common throughout history for a sprinter being good at the longest distances than the middle distances for some reason. So it's not unheard of that sprinters do well there.

The time difference with korea was a little hindrance these olympics. Could mostly only watch replays. 1992 was luckily in spain :)

Yeah, and next time it's in Tokyo, and the one after that in Beijing. :( So will be quite bad for quite some time to come, but at least then there's Paris in 2024!
