Titanfall Open Beta

So according to news websites, Titanfall is supposed to be in open beta, but there's a sign up limit? So it's actually not in open beta?

that is only possible if you bought the early access. The beta is over and now only the ones who purchased the VERY overpriced early access (or 250$ collectors pack :@) games thesedays... so expensive.

I didn't buy the game. I registered for beta a few days ago and as of today, I can play it.

So, as of a few hours ago, they sent beta invites to anyone who signed up on PC (Not XBOX). Check their Twitter. And technically, it's still open. If the random public has the opportunity to play, it's open. Closed would be if only people of their choosing tested with no sign ups.

Nope, closed is if you have to sign up and get picked, open is if you simply sign up and play. What you're referring to is internal or friends&family, otherwise, how would they choose you if you cannot sign up anywhere?

Open and closed beta[edit] Developers release either a closed beta or an open beta; closed beta versions are released to a restricted group of individuals for a user test by invitation, while open beta testers are from a larger group, or anyone interested.

That's the official definition I found. I feel like TITANFALL's beta is on the lines of both.

closed beta (or so they said). several days ago there's this registration page for close beta until feb 18th.

Yep, like Call of Duty, Battlefield, MMOs, etc etc.

Also its Multi/Single Hybrid. They singleplayer stuff is in a MP setting.
Like an MMO.

What, would you rather have the dev team put time and resources into making some crappy linear campaing and thus having less resources and time for the multiplayer? I'd rather have good multiplayer and no singleplayer than average singleplayer and multiplayer.
