First of all if posting something like this here isn't allowed please excuse me and tell me and I will remove what I posted.

My suggestion is that people who contribute games to SteamGifts should get a little bonus to make it easier for them to win giveaways, I am not saying increase our chances because that's unfair though. I think everytime we giveaway a game (Non-Bundle Games not though, since you can receive 5P for 0.49$) we should receive the points the game is worth.

For Example: I giveaway Dark Souls I, that's a 20P game. Once the giveaway is over and the winner confirmed that you received this the person giving the game away should get 20P added to their account so they can join more giveaways.

People who do a lot of giveaways and make people happy on here will also be happy and awarded for what they do making them do it more often and maybe get newer people to giveaway games aswell.

What are your opinions on this? Keep in mind this is just a suggestion so don't freak out over it, it's just an idea that popped up in my mind. :)

Most gifters that give away non-bundled games almost always have 300P.
So this will not ever be considered.

Uh no. Your suggestion is foolish.

And this is coming from someone with a bit more in the way of giveaways than you, so I outrank you. :D

In all fairness though, I'm pretty sure about half of my giveaways are Fortix, so I'm not sure if it really counts XD

I ment non-bundle games though xD and you might have more giveaways but this is just a suggestion xD

People already hit max points very quickly anyway, so this would be pretty pointless.

This post had me wondering if there was any connection between the number of points a user has, and the amount they have contributed towards the site. More specifically, do the top contributors sit at 300P, while those with 10P are likely to be entering the most giveaways, while creating fewer of their own?

Below are the results, looking at users active in the past 24 hours, grouping points in increments of 20.

It's a lot more level than I expected, with users close to 0 points averaging $53, and users with roughly 300 points averaging $78. Anyway, back on topic. Personally, I'd be against the idea of rewarding people with points because they'd no longer be equally distributed, and it's one more reason you could argue the community wouldn't be gifting for the sake of gifting, but rather for something in return.

Not that many people spending all their points, I always though there were many users in that group.

That graph doesn't really answer your question though. I think you should look at CV value increments and then seeing the average number of points people in each group have.

Let's try it out. I rounded contributor values to the nearest 500, and cut the list at $6,000 because the sample size becomes too small after that point. Once again, we're looking at active users in the past 24 hours.

Statistics make me all tingly. I would love random statistics on v2, granted it doesn't impact the functioning of the site too much.

Hmm cool. Looks like there is a slight upward trend as you move up in CV

That 12598 includes those who already left the site, and those who just create an account and never come back, so of course the avg cv is not high.

Only people active in the last 24 hours are included in the stats.
