Hello, my friend suggests me to invest in a growtopia farm and sell the farmed products thus generating dls (in game currency) and selling the currency in real life. Note that i want to invest specificaly to earn extra income besides my job (or maybe even replace it). I am asking growtopia farmers, how good of a idea this is in 2019? Is the demand to buy dls for real money high? I am not familiar with growtopia at all btw.

I have a huge interest in all kind of investment things that generate profit over time. Does anyone here have a scheme or business of their own in some sort of game?

You think that "investment" will ever replace an actual job? Good luck...

He told me that with a starting investment of 100euro i could get quite far ahead of the actual grind for pennies process.

Well, Growtopia is popular. But it's not popular in the required market to make money. It's kids that you'd be selling to. Young kids. Ages 5-11 or so. Even 11 is an exaggeration, to be honest. They won't even have the money to buy stuff like that.

Note that i want to invest specificaly to earn extra income besides my job (or maybe even replace it).

It'll never happen. You're talking of a fad that should replace the stability of a standard job. These opportunities are basically ways to get beer money at best. So yeah, you spend an hour casually doing some task, get some money for it and it supplements your small hobby, meal or something else minor and unnecessary that you don't want to spend your wage on.

You've set your expectations way too high.

Ok forget the "replace" part, it got more attention than the actual questions. I just generally enjoy reselling for rhe experience and profit i can get with it. I used to sell steamgifts like 3 years ago and really loved the process. Was trying to find other niche to fit in since steamgift trading business is a joke in 2019 thanks to regiin locks, trade restrictions and such

Because it was tied to your question. It won't be worth investing if you're wanting to make money and it definitely won't replace your job, unless you got paid pennies.

Your question was already answered by me: "These opportunities are basically ways to get beer money at best. So yeah, you spend an hour casually doing some task, get some money for it and it supplements your small hobby, meal or something else minor and unnecessary that you don't want to spend your wage on."

Just start flipping items, if you like reselling.

runescape was once filled with Chinese bots farming stuff and selling it for real money.

Same goes for WoW and any other popular MMOs I reckon. Back when I was an avid fan of F2P MMOs, there will always be bots after bots (after the previous bots were banned of course) in the global chat channels selling their wares.

And to answer your question - A big NO, especially if you're not already a huge fan of Growtopia in the first place and also the fact that you had to invest 100 Euros beforehand with no guarantee of at least recouping your initial investment.

I know a friend who managed to earn a few hundred bucks by selling a rare DotA 2 item that he won by playing a match - not sure what exactly it is though because I didn't care as much :P Just noticed it, since he was bragging about it on FB, while scrolling, but the chances of him getting another "very profitable" item are pretty slim. Note that he is a massive DotA 2 player and would spend hours every day playing the game for fun.

No.

Growtopia will only decrease over time. You could possibly make a small profit in the short term. But that's bad investment strategy.

Don't know anything about Growtopia or game related investments. I'd say in general, whatever you invest in a good rule of thumb is - don't invest more than you can afford to lose and expect to lose the money you put in. It will make you cautious and any gains you do make feel even better :)
It's probably not going to give you the returns you want, but I think peer to peer investing is pretty interesting. Maybe have a look into that as an alternative to the gaming investment.
