You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection." -Buddha

Here I stand, clad in Clangeddin's raiment
To stare upon the common seat of Cormytes

"Each person has unspeakable distress. When I remember the past annoyingly I cry; the reality of today is too cruel, too severe, and doesn't even offer me a dream. Imagining the future brings me yet another kind of tears" -Aya Kito one Liter of tears

Whooo... all this talk of Umar brings back memories, let me tell you! My great-great-cousin One-Knee was one of the adventurers that hunted the Great Witch of the Hills a long time ago. Said she had a fondness for little children and that her house was made out of chocolate candy, of all things. Personally, a house made of turnips sounds much more appealing, but One-Knee stated decisively that the house was delicious, nevertheless. According to his stories, the witch was dead... something about getting shoved in an oven... but then Grammy Jansen said that One-Knee was pretty delusional, so who knows?-The legendary Jan Jansen

"Why are we, as people, worth saving? We still commit murder because of greed, spite, jealousy. And we still visit all of our sins upon our children. We refuse to accept responsibility for anything that we’ve done. We decided to play God, create life. When that life turned against us, we comforted ourselves in the knowledge that it really wasn’t our fault, not really. You cannot play God then wash your hands of the things that you’ve created. Sooner or later the day comes when you can’t hide from the things that you’ve done, anymore.”-Commander William "Bill" Adama, BSG.

"So let me get this straight, all we have to do is get past an enemy fleet, avoid a tachyon detection grid, Beam into the middle of Klingon headquarters, and avoid The Brotherhood of The Sword, long enough to set these things up & activate them in front of Gowron?
- Chief Miles Edward O'Brien, repeating the near-impossible task ahead of members of Deep Space Nine's crew.

I'll try to remember to post a quote daily. Here's a start:
We're each of us alone, to be sure. What can you do but hold your hand out in the dark?
Ursula K. Le Guin
Happy 85th birthday, Ursula K. Le Guin!
Obviously I invite others to post here, but let's keep it posi!
