I know a lot of people nowadays prefer fast-paced movies, but how many people here prefer more slow-paced and absorbing movies?
I for one enjoy both depending on the mood. So... yea, let's just say I got bored.

Reserved, cuz fast.
Ooops, I forgot to say gibaway. Oh well, 10 minutes is enough. Over now. Movie talk time.

I'm a fan of both. It all depends on what I feel like watching. I'm nearly always up for a slower one that makes you think though. The kind that get you invested in it so much that you don't even think about the possibility of a twist.

Poll needs a "both" option. Depends on the movie, really, and what it is trying to convey.

I find the same to be true of games as well. Certain times I am ready and happy to put in a hundred hours of grind, others I just want the narrative to proceed and the game can be completely satisfying to me if expertly crafted and paced in a 90-minute playthrough.

Ahh, I should have put that in. Not sure if I can change it now.
I have enjoyed games where 90 minutes might be enough for a playthrough but those are usually rogue-likes which I've already invested dozens of hours into them. So for games I think I much more prefer a slow-paced game.

Depends on what I feel like watching. While my favourite movies don't tend to be fast paced, when I just feel like trying to turn off my brain, or when I'm tired, a fast paced movie suits me better.

I enjoy a movie I can invest time in but now and again a brainless in-your-face film is called for.

I like:
High Tension - The Collector - Boondock Saints - Running Scared (2006) - Death Sentence (2007)
So.

Hmm, those movies seem more fast-paced to me but that does bring up the issue of what makes defines fast-paced, slow-paced and where the gap is between the two.

I see 'em like slow-paced movies punctuated with intense actions (HT - TC - DS).
Could be seen as fast-paced movies with slowness segmentses so as not to fatigue (BS - RS).

Looking at it now I'm not even sure if some of these movies are fast-paced or slow-paced anymore. These thriller and horrors.

Just realised that was from ed ed n eddy.
Cheers to watching entertaining movies.

More of my favourites are slower paced.

On the flip-side I can't think of a worse movie watching experience than feeling bored or frustrated by something I deem too slow, wishing they'd get on with it. It's a worse feeling than thinking something was rushed as far as I'm concerned.

So it's something like:
Good slow-paced >good fast-paced
Bad fast paced > bad slow-paced

I must agree on that. Slow-paced movies are a bit harder to do right but then they're done right they're usually better than fast-paced movies.

Some movies are too slow, others are too fast, it's hard to find the perfect blend. Especially if it the first of a planed series. Character introductions then building then about half way through the pivotal event that occurs (ex if Superhero, gets powers, or figures out how to control powers, etc.) then rush to the overly predictable ending then done. Often the intros and character building are unnecessarily long, often involving flashbacks to show that yep, they have been friends for 7 years, just knowing they are friends is not good enough, etc.

I love both. But most of action movies are just bullet and explosions, bland and boring. Not to mention law of physics that was completely ignored.

That's why I prefer slow movie.
One of my favourite films, watched it several times, never get bored. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEoLOjumO0c
