I've been staying away from sugar in general, but before I started my "no sugar" I enjoyed grabbing the ol' Biggby coffee butter bear frozen. LOTS of sugar.

Though I'm curious what other people here (if any) add something that isn't sugary to their coffee to make it different. Myself, I don't mind it just plain but sometimes I wish for a different taste if ever so slight.

Sometimes milk if I don't have any creamer around and sometimes whiskey. Though best thing to put in coffee is Bailey's Irish Creamer.... My friend has a joke about that because his last name is Bailey.

I use this spice mix from Poland. :) Mostly during winter time since it contains mostly cinnamon, but also cardamon, vanilla and cloves. :)
Give it a try if you manage to find it. :)

Some people add coconut oil which sounds interesting to me. I just add a very small chunk of rough cut raw sugar and some half and half. If i can taste the sugar, it's too much.

Two great options you probably didn't hear of:
1) Stevia extract / Stevioside. This is a sweetener, but it is quite unlike most other sweeteners. Most importantly, perhaps, it has been proven to not be a health risk, unlike other sweeteners. It is also not artificial, but rather extracted from a plant. The taste is rather weird and it is also often 125:1 or even 250:1 sweetness per mass when compared to regular sugar, which means lesser amounts are consumed and should you spill your drink all over your keyboard - it won't become sticky.
2) Butter and/or cocoa butter. This may sound like a bad idea, but surprisingly, it isn't. There's even a brand of "bulletproof coffee" exploiting that idea, but who cares? The taste is unique, but rather pleasing. One of the coolest and most notable affects of that drink that I personally experienced is being less hungry. One cup of that drink can surprisingly compensate for a skipped breakfast. Among other effects people list "mental clarity", but that is rather arbitrary.

Sambuca - Italian anise-flavoured liqueur, minimum 38% alcohol content, typically ~42% (just a few drops, or it would cover the taste of the coffee).
I also tried coffee with cinnamon once, but I think I added too much, I almost couldn't taste the coffee at all. I should try again with a lower amount.

I rarely drink coffee, but when I do, it's milk coffee with vanilla. I almost always add vanilla, it really adds flavor.

Cinnamon! There's different types too, sometimes I'll use ceylon cinnamon or roasted cinnamon because they all taste a bit different, give a different flavor. I used to use lots of sugar in my coffee but once I started using cinnamon I realized I liked it more black with cinnamon than with sugar - which was a great discovery.

Cinnamon is supposed to help round out the flavor of the coffee itself by helping harmonize the bitterness of the tannin in the coffee and round out the acidity too. Some people can taste tannin a lot more than others so I wouldn't be surprised if even a tiny dusting of cinnamon (not enough to even taste) would make the coffee generally better if you're one of the group that can really taste tannin.

I personally love cinnamon though so I tend to use enough to taste it when I don't want it plain. If you wanna get really fancy and make a treat type coffee drink, pumpkin spice and apple pie spice type blends are mostly cinnamon with a pinch of other spices thrown in. A drop of vanilla is nice sometimes too.

Coconut milk or coconut cream is also great once in a while, but way too rich for everyday use.

When I didn't want extra sugar I tried a dash of salt. I've heard of others doing it as well. It really cuts the bitterness, but too much will make it taste like saltwater instead. I've also tried cinnamon, carob, cocoa. None of them are as good as milk and sugar, though.
