I know, I know -- I didn't have to do/pay anything, but I won a gift, and It's almost the fifth day. No correspondence or anything. I understand there's a chance I don't get the game, but why create a giveaway? It's very hard to get a gift for a good game considering the odds being what they are, so for me to win was exciting...

... maybe I should go back to when I was a kid when my parents would buy me something in a big box and I would spend A LOT of time playing in the empty box!

You won a gift practically on the day you registered. That's lucky. Did you try and contact the gifter? If not, after 7 days contact the site support.

I know! That's like joining one of those dating sites and a hot chick messaging you within hours of creating the profile! :)

Just be patient and hope for the best is all you can really do. I've won a couple giveaways where it took the user quite a few days to send the gift. Congratulations on winning it too!

I also noticed that you just registered to the site a few days ago so have a big welcome! I hope you find the community here as awesome as I do! I would also encourage you to read the FAQ as it gives alot of helpful information there as to many questions new users often have.

I actually am starting to love the community. May not even worry much about the giveaways (except to create a few), and just stick to the forum!

Sorry to disappoint you, but there seems to be a comment on your profile from the maker of the giveaway that you won.

You know, I didn't even see that --- I tried adding him as a friend, but then he changed his profile to private.

Cheer up hybridex0, my first GA I won was also a fake one (a $5 game though), as I posted it on the forum it turned out it was a bundle game and a pretty decent fellow sent one copy to me for free. Good karma man, good karma!

That's awesome... one of the reason I love fellow gamers. Not a lot of other types of communities have people like that.

(Sorry) but it seems you'll just have to mark as not received and move on. Don't worry, you'll eventually win. :)

OP - just keep calm and move along.

Well you won,but will not get the prize, but feel lucky you won so quick,i have entered over 1,000 times and no wins so imagine waiting this long and your first win be a dud.

I must say to the person who created the GA though, should have had a little more courage and just added the person in steam and sent them a PM to talk to then while they are on to say that they made a mistake,to me leaving it on the profile imo is just a bit of the cowards way out.

That would be kinda like breaking up with someone with a text lol

Pfft, at least he let him know AT ALL. There's been plenty of instances where GA creators won't ever say anything to the winners.

Don't really think anything like that would happen. Oh well, no biggie... I'll just bide my time and pay it forward when I can.

I know the other two winners of this guy's GAs will find out, but I wish I could tell them they won't get it.

Are you so sure all other giveaways not fake too, are they not just there to scam you?

That seems to be a running joke, though I haven't been here long enough to know. I doubt very strongly this is a scam, seeing that I know someone personally that received a gift.

It is a running joke. I've won a few things, and given a few things, here. We wouldn't all be here if we were just constantly getting scammed.
