The Long Dark maybe? I haven't played it but it seems to be exactly what you're looking for.

There's The Fifth Day game, but I think it's kinda dead now. xD

The Forest but as far as I know you play just in a forest, not many modern things around.

7 days to die, the long dark, both are great

there's home behind, you don't have a house but you upgrade your "mobile base" and craft stuff to survive.

The Long Dark is really good, but the setting might not be what you're looking for.
I've watched some gameplays of this hobo simulator thingie and I think it's the most modern you can get in a survival game. GrayStillPlays has some very entertaining videos about it on youtube.
