Zdravo, komšija! :D (Hello, neighbour - technically, not next-door, but still :) )
Congratulations on passing the test and all the best to you and your family! :)

Bump. Love the way you set this up. Some games for all levels. Nice

Thanks for giveaways and congratulations on passing your Slovenian test!
By the way, why did you say 'obviously' after 'I voted to stay'?
Comment has been collapsed.
Thank you! Well, I assumed voting 'stay' would be natural for any British person living in another EU country. Due to the fact that leaving the EU will likely make things harder for expats. Maybe I'm wrong to assume that though :)

Oh, right. I kind of thought you wanted to become a Slovenian citizen anyway, since you live there. Personally, I think that UK will be fine (I mean, finer!) outside EU. Exiting doesn't mean you have to cut all bridges with the Union, they will surely make agreements, as everyone does.
By the way, I live in Italy near the Slovenian border, we're sort of neighbours! :)

Well, hello neighbour :) I guess the real outcome remains to be seen. The decision was obvious to me at least but everyone is entitled to their opinion of course :)

Thanks! Definitely doesn't come naturally. I actually think I should be making less mistakes by now, but the main thing is that people understand me :)

Slovenia is not really a poor country in comparison to some nearby countries. Also, she had a really nice life here before I ever turned up. There's no guarantee she'd have a better life in the UK. But, tbh, I don't really care where we live as long as we are together, as cheesy as that sounds :D

Just because it doesn't appear on the outside, it doesn't mean it's not poor ... a joke of minimal wages, high disoccupation, living standards pretty much the same as in wealthier EU countries, not mentioning high corruption ...
To be frank, I'm still looking for an opportunity to get out of here :/

I hear Africa is nice this time of the year ;) Joking obviously. I definitely appreciate what you've said, particularly on the high corruption part. If you are personally not happy with your life in Slovenia it might be good for you to look for opportunities in other countries. I'm happy with my life so I'm gonna stick around for now. Just remember, the grass isn't always greener on the other side :)

Well congratulations you Britlovenian! My boss is swiss and is married to a local [salvadorean], and he too is applying for citizenship so he can travel in central america more easily with his family, he also says that it's a royal pain in the ass to get our citizenship which we find funny since our nationality isn't very interesting at all hehe

Thank you hotbullet! I'm guessing it's a pain in the arse wherever you go. I mean, let's be honest, why would they want to make it easy for people :D Good luck to your boss though!

Thank you for the wishes! They don't have anything like that, thankfully. It would probably be harder than the language test :D

Please do tell me: did this rs start as a long distance relationship?

Actually, we met in Madrid. She was on a student exchange and I was visiting my English friend. They happened to be living in the same flat. I stayed in Madrid for about 3 months, then she suggested I come to Slovenia to do some more traveling. I've pretty much lived here ever since :D I did go back to the UK for about 3 months after we were already a couple. So during those 3 months we did have a long distance relationship and it was horrible. Couldn't wait to get back to Slovenia to be with her :)

EDIT: Thanks for all the nice wishes and support! Still haven't found out if my application was accepted, but keep your fingers crossed for me! All giveaways have now ended. A couple of the free keys remain unclaimed so I will save them for my next big set of giveaways :) Have fun everyone!
About 9 years ago I met a kind and beautiful Slovenian girl and we fell in love. Since then I’ve moved to Slovenia, married her and had two kids. Recently, since the outcome of the EU referendum in the UK, I started to worry about losing the benefits of being an EU citizen. So I thought it would be wise to apply for Slovenian citizenship. I know it’s going to take a number of years before Britain actually leaves the EU, but why wait. Btw, I voted to STAY, obviously!
So the whole process of applying for Slovenian citizenship is, frankly, a pain in the arse! There are a tonne of forms to fill out, documents to submit and it’s expensive! The hardest part by far, however, is the requirement that you have to pass a Slovenian language test. It’s a difficult language to learn and I’ve never been to any lessons. Everything I know, I’ve picked up from speaking to others, watching TV and listening to the radio. I can hold a conversation but I make a lot of mistakes and I don’t know much of the grammar, so naturally I was very nervous about taking the test. Well, long story short, and to my surprise, I PASSED! And so, to the point of this post; I’ve yet to find out if my application will be accepted, but I was so happy about passing the test that I wanted to share that happiness with you guys :)
So here are the games! There’s not a lot, but hopefully you can all find at least one game you’d like to add to your collection :)
In each giveaway, I’ve written an interesting fact about Slovenia and posed a question. The first person to guess the answer correctly wins a key for an ungiftable game. If I have multiple keys for any of the games they will go to the next correct answer.
The free games available in each GA are written next to the giveaway game, in brackets. Only unedited answers will be accepted and only one answer per person.
