Do you think people are generally nice in this world?
Let me know if the sgtools doesn't work etc.
Hope you folks have a good day.
For my nice thing this month:
Been volunteering at the SPCA walking doggos, and there's this cute three legged black mixed breed 4 month old doggo.
Her name is very fittingly called Xena, the warrior puppy.
She's always been very cheerful and happy despite her missing leg, and can run even faster than me!
Recently, she got adopted after a few weeks. I'm happy that she finally found a home!
Here's a photo of her.

That is the cutest doggo, and Xena was my favorite at like 3 despite having no idea what the show was really about I just found the actress beautiful. I even dressed up as her for Halloween around age 3. I used to have a photo of my half out of my outfit running around the house in shorts with a shield just the most excited a kiddo could be. xD

Thanks for reading. I'm Glad you like xena :')
That's so sweet.
Innocent little kids being excited about things are some of the best :')

I remember watching some dogs on the beach when I was a kid, and telling my Dad that I felt so sorry for one of them because I noticed that it only had three legs. He looked up and watched them running around, jumping and playing together, and told me with a smile, "Don't. He's certainly not sitting around feeling sorry for himself or letting it hold him back. Look at him go!"
He wasn't trying to say anything profound, but it was a perfect way to show resiliency and how you can make the most of your situation, regardless of your circumstances or whatever hardships you've been through. :)
Chin up, Robin, and remember...

This is the sweetest story. Gave me a smile when I read it.
He kinda did say something profound. You have a pretty wise dad.
Cherish him.
Thank you for sharing it with me :')
I wish you a good week ahead, you seem very nice.

Hey Zerielle, thanks for sharing that with me!
Taxi drivers can be really nice, I agree.
It's nice when they go that extra mile just for you.

Didn't enter anything, but I'm curious to read the thread :) been having a rough month as well. one nice thing nice that happened for me this month though, one of my granny's church friends found out I like to garden and she sent down 'a few' packs of seeds. which was actually 25 packs of veggies, fruit, and flower seeds. Small thing but it was a really nice surprise

I'm sorry to hear you've been having a rough month as well. I hope things will turn around these last few May days ;w;
That was very nice of them, not exactly small at all :o
Did you ever get to find out who the church friend was?
Comment has been collapsed.
I hope they do too
And yea I did. She came to the house a week or so later to visit with my granny and see how everyones been doing. Was really nice getting to show off all the stuff I started using the seeds she sent. Made her happy anyway :)

Cake does always help, true. Now I want cake..

I'm not very good at baking cakes
I can bake a pie
Comment has been collapsed.
Do you have a good recipe for good pie?
I can make /edible/ cakes but not good ones.
Comment has been collapsed.
I improvise a lot, but pies are easy, all you need is a good crust (equal parts fat water and flower is a basic pie crust, but you can also throw in cream cheese for something more interesting, the cream cheese goes especially well in a quiche) and whatever you like as filling. And don't make the filling too complicated. Apple is easiest, just some peeled apples with some brown sugar and cinnamon is enough for an apple pie, I don't even bother buying expensive apples, Courtlands work pretty well, if you do not precook the apples you don't even need to cover the pie. 45 minutes of work and your pie is done. Pumpkin is also very easy, you just make a filling with some pumpkin + cream and sugar (spices to taste). One shortcut is to cut the pumpkin into blocks and cut off the rind, instead of trying to scoop it out like we do for halloween decorations, much faster. Berry pies are the riskiest because you need to make sure you cook the filling properly, otherwise if it's too soggy you'll end up with a wet mess, so I suggest sticking with fruit like apples and pears for your first pie attempts. Once you decide to risk a berry pie, I'd just go with whatever is local, gooseberry is my fav but it's hard to find here. If you want to make a quiche I recommend wall-nuts shrooms and your fav veggies, zucchinis or asparagus or tomatoes whatever you like, as long as you cook them a bit before using them as filling to get rid of extra moisture, and just cover them with egg and cream and bake. Quiche is a fun little snack food you can keep in the fridge, and they are easier to bake if you don't try to shove meat in them, when you use meat you'll need to consider the extra fat that will be released.
EDIT: 45 minutes includes the baking >.>

I started playing Dungeons and Dragons with few friends. I invited one boy over too because he said he always wanted to try but never had the people to play with, so I thought why not. He knew a good place to play, too. Anyway, he works at a chemical laboratory and one day he showed me an apparatus he constructed himself and I told him that I have always wanted to create some apparatus too, but I'm not skilled enough, smart enough and I don't have skilled friends, too. And that made me a little sad, that I'll probably never have an apparatus at my home.
Anyway, when our first DnD session ended, he handed me a box as a 'thank you for inviting me' and also that he wanted to make me happy, because I told him few days prior that I was sad because people weren't treating me nicely. And inside the box was a miniature apparatus and that was so great.
He seems like a pretty nice guy, I didn't really know him that much before, but he gives money to buskers and he makes a good deed every day. Which is admirable, maybe. It makes me kinda happy knowing that I know some nice people too. I guess. :D

That sounds like a pretty nice person.
I'm glad that you invited them to the DnD session, and that they showed you a bit of kindness in return :')
Thank you for sharing, it helps knowing that there's still nice people out there.

I try to do that too, but sometimes it gets hard when you're feeling blue.
I hope you're right, and that things will get better for the both of us.
And thank you for looking, its appreciated ;w;/

I know that uneasy feeling, coming from unkind people. The only viable solution is to disconnect from them as much as possible, if that is a permanent issue.
Plenty of little nice things happened, not worth mentioning though.
Also: My gaming PC is dying. And that's nice because I have an excuse to buy a new one now! \o/
Comment has been collapsed.
That's a toughie if you're related to such people by blood or have to interact with them on a regular(ish) basis. (work, school etc)
But other than that, I definitely agree.
That's a really positive way of looking at it, wow :o
How long has your gaming pc lasted for?

I have a similar problem and experience with my dad. In the past 12 years we probably had no real dialogue and spoke maybe 40 sentences in total.
Most parts have been roughly 3-4 years old. Some are newer, some older (I think the power supply is actually 10 years old). This time I'll replace everything though.

More nice news: I ordered my new PC Sunday afternoon. I just checked the current status of my order and it's all fine.
Then I checked out the store page again discovered that the price rose by 12.5% after my order. Phew, I'm glad that I didn't hesitate any longer than I did. :)

Most people are selfish, think also with our goverments (if you had more to spend, then it's easier to give something extra).
But people also are just invested time wise with themselves lately with the world having become faster, it's why i don't really seek friends anymore (would just want a relationship/partner) saves you pain and disappointment.
That's my example why i choosen that there still are some good people out there.

Sometimes, I do agree with you, Lugum.
I hope things will change.
It's increasingly difficult to find nice people out there, although they /do/ exist.
Such as your friendo gifting games to you.

I been bullied pretty much my whole school life, they even waited after school on me many times (one time even half the class), in which i had to run home, alot of it was because i was skinny.. and maybe the outsider, yet i had alot of playdates with most of the class.
That bullying probably resulted why i dropped out when i was 15, and let me to the life i live now.
Even in my current job, i have 4-6 hours of sleep which makes me a bit slow at times, but i got commitment for my work so while bad for my heart i drink energy drinks to stay somewhat awake, but sometimes i blurt out something weird or i bump something but there is one person that makes it pass around that i am like a total idiot, and others are taking it over, and while different then at school the hurt from it just feels the same.
But the reward from it i am typing this on my 1800 euro pc, and i am just keeping hope that things will even get better for me.
But i read an article not that long ago that even physical bullying at work happens more then we think, and yeah in school atleast we are still kids, i can understand some didn't know any better at that time, but when you're an adult and still behave like that, it does boggle my mind too.
I like to believe in spirituality and while it's sometimes hard, try to appreciate the good things in your life, like having a roof above your head, food, family. If someone can't be thankful even for the small things while people do expect "someone up there" to help you with a change in bigger things, that just wouldn't mix, but most important in keeping the faith.
I am assuming you aren't in a relationship, but that you will find someone someday that will match you and be kind for you and you for the other.
You know how i see it? most men go into a relationship when they are young and then they get a midlife crisis and find someone younger, if i find a relationship now, i would just appreciate this so much more and have no reason to find someone else making this a much more happier relationship.
I have accepted that some people in this world are a bit different, maybe i am too, maybe again also that spirituality thing, having some sort of (energy) field around you, or just being an emotional person it just scares off some people but you know what, it's them having the problems, not you.
I could suggest maybe finding some volunteer thing, that's when you could find nice people as they already do something unselfish by giving their time to do something for someone else.
Good luck and again just try to keep the faith in things.

I'm not feeling in the mood for writing a lot, just woke up. Just want to say that's moving.
Seeing many things in a similar way like you, for example your thoughts about luck, relationship or the selfishness of people. I want to believe that most of us have a nice character in general, however it's the world we live in, the education we got, the system and how we try to compete and increase our profits, that let us exploit others and disrespect their values. Overall we all have made bad experiences and try to protect ourselves behind shields of selfishness.

Feeling a bit sad recently due to (...) unkind people
What really helped me was blocking negative people from having contacts with me and hanging out with positive and succesful people instead. You will adapt to the way your closest friends hang out and (less or more) start behaving like them. Sometimes it's hard to do because it turns out all your best friends are sooo negative you'd have to abandon them all :') But it's good to at least limit amount of time you're spending with them and spend more time with positive people instead.
Comment has been collapsed.
True, though it's hard when family members or people in your class/workplace are those people :')
Thank you for the advice, trying to do what I can to change that.

That's very lucky xD
I think mine would be the same regardless of what happens to me.
He just stays at home and faces the computer for more than 2/3 of a day. The rest is eating and sleeping.
Worries me sometimes.

Yeah, little negative things affect my mood greatly because I don't have much to counter it. But I force myself to be an optimist and not think bad about things or people, ignore people bringing drama and insults to me and it helps to concentrate on good things. Fake it til you make it.
For a positive story... I bought Danganronpa 1 & 2 this month and just recently finished the second one. The first game had me immediately hooked and I loved everything. The second was hard for me to get into, but once the second trial started I was already back in. I never had such an engaging experience with a game that's part visual novel, but the characters and soundtrack are really good. I can't believe I never knew about the game before this year, especially being into games like Ace Attorney and Phoenix Wright. Gives me hope that there's still something good I've yet to experience.
Thanks for your train!

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life
I think it's not possible to avoid feeling sad sometimes, but you can always hope that the future will be better.
Also, sometimes a cute or funny gif lifts my mood! :)

3 days ago, i had a really long work day. I was exhausted, but on the way back home, i found 1 € on the street. Really cheered me up :) Sometimes it's the little things in life.

It happens to all of us from time to time. Like the others wrote - try to avoid and ignore such people if possible and do something that you usually enjoy, whether it's listening to music, eating something you like, playing a favourite game, drawing art, etc.
As for nice/unexpected things, this month I received a figurine (which I sort of collect) from my colleague at work that he picked up on his holidays in Greece - didn't expect that one coming so it was a nice and unselfish surprise.
Also, have some music, maybe you'll like it and will make you feel better:
Matisyahu - One Day
Nelly Furtado - I'm Like A Bird
ATB & Armin Van Buuren - Vice Versa
Dire Straits - Walk Of Life

I think that people are generally nice if you ignore the ones who aren't. I'm generally good at that. :)
This week there was a car stuck in a 2 lane road, causing a bit of a traffic jam. I parked in the nearby bus bay and found out it from the driver that it was engine problem. I said that we should try to move the car to the bus bay so it doesn't block the road. Another guy came and called a couple of others and we got the car away. And yes, there was that driver who honked and complained that we should let him pass, but hey, the important thing is that a few people helped a guy (with a wife and baby) move his car so it doesn't block traffic, and that was nice.
