It's a gaming site, mostly younger people(13-20ish probably is the average here, sure there are some older folks to) who didn't probably believe the propaganda.

Yes yes, no weed for you, take this extremely toxic cocktail of drugs, for your health.

Having lived in a country where it's semi-legal, I'd say it's not too bad a substance. As most people agree, alcohol can be much more destructive. However, I think the main problem is in kids smoking it. Another problem I'd say is the lies people tell you about it. Or at least warped truths. Plenty of people says that "it's not addictive". It is. It is addictive. Just not physically. However, IT'S STILL PSYCHOLOGICALLY ADDICTIVE. I've seen lots of people get addicted to it, and sure it's easier to quit from a physical point of view, but you still experience mental cravings for it.
Anyway, back to the kids. There's so much difference in opinion online over whether it affects your brain while growing up, but I'd be inclined to believe it does (and if anyone has any sources against this, please show them). And it can get out of hand. If you start skipping school or skipping homework or studying or whatever to get high then it's getting in the way of your future. But this is true of most things, I can spend time on the internet instead of doing my homework, does that mean the internet should be illegal? No, I think cannabis should be legal (at least in places other than Belgium and the Netherlands, not too savvy about other countries), but only from the age of 18 onwards. I think Belgium has the right laws on it, it's legal to be in possession of up to 3 grams, as long as it's for personal use, you're over 18, and you're not in the vicinity of a school.

I also believe that these drugs should be considered objectively cannabis can be harmful for developing brains and trigger existing conditions. But that's no reason for it to be illegal and same really goes to most other drugs. It really comes down to individual substance and it's effects.

"Don't do drugs while your brain is still undergoing significant growth/development" is a pretty solid rule of thumb.

This strikes me as an educated and well thought out opinion. I agree wholeheartedly.
I'd like to point out that everything pleasant is psychologically addictive, though, from dessert to videogames. Anything taken to extremes will mess a person up.

"So were shown some experiments with mice using the Maurice water maze , some of which were given cannabis at an early age, some later. The mice were put in a bowl of water and had to swim to a tower, the surface of which was just below the water level – the water being cloudy to prevent the mice seeing the tower. The mice had been shown the tower before and should know where it is by reference to objects outside of the tank. The experiments showed that mice given cannabis at an early age (<15 in human terms) showed learning impairment and couldn’t find the tower, whereas those given cannabis at a later age found it quickly, showing no impairment with a control group. The conclusion from this is that it’s probably not a good idea for people under 15 or so to consume high levels of THC, but for those above that age there’s no impairment."
From a BBC documentary about marijuana.

The actual study they were talking about and proper medical notes.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-11-15/pot-smoking-before-16-causes-brain-changes-that-inhibit-focus-study-finds.html
"The study compared 33 marijuana smokers to 26 healthy controls. Participants were given a battery of tests designed to measure executive function, a term for brain processes responsible for abilities and behaviors involving abstract thinking, decision making, cognitive flexibility and correcting mistakes. The results showed those who started using marijuana before age 16 made twice as many mistakes on tests of executive function than those who began later. The research didn’t examine those people who had started smoking early and stopped, although those people begin to look more like non-smokers in other studies, Gruber said."
Proof of the earlier mouse studies with humans.
I must point out, though, that any number of drugs might also have a similar effect on developing young brains that are still forming neural pathways and learning how to, well, think.

Not nearly as harmful as alcohol or cigarettes, illegal due to pharmaceutical companies, makes a lot of peoples conditions more bearable, reduces stress, multiple healthy ways of taking in besides smoking. Not as addictive as people would have you think, honestly I think junk food is more addictive, lets ban that to then to make it fair.
People against it are up tight or don't know enough and saw way to many commercials saying it will make you sick, a lazy person, etc...(I know people who smoke that are lawyers, own their own business, etc...).
Oh and before someone says it makes you lazy look it up first, there are some that do that and some that act like a pot of coffee would.

Diet is the biggest area of addiction, today. High fructose corn syrup is 100x worse for us than most drugs, let alone a naturally-occurring plant.

I hate going grocery shopping nowadays....takes twice as long because I am reading the ingredients to everything...ughhhh!

Haha, I am so with you. Last week, my girlfriend and I were both knee-deep in the bread section, arms full of loaves and yelling out our findings. Felt like we were mining for the one brand that wasn't trying to kill us >__<

Honestly its hard to find bread that isn't crazy bad, most have high fructose and a lot of other crap, funny part is sometimes the cheaper brands use less and better ingredients, at least around my area.

Something is really screwed up with our food production and consumption if "real sugar" is an actual selling point for foodstuffs. Like when sodas throw shit like "Made with real cane sugar!" on a bottle as if that is so much healthier for you. :psyduck:

Its healthier, that said to much sugar is never good...

I smoked it a lot when I was 16 -24, but only in the weekends. There was always free pot around. Now I smoke some a few times a year at a party or festival.
All my friends were heavy cannabis smokers but we grew up, and frankly it makes me tired and I dont really like the taste of it much anymore.

Aha! Already knew what the link would be before I clicked it. Everyone knows this guy.

The worst thing is he was probably one of those types totally oblivious to the fact that it cost others money or how much he was smoking off others, and in the rare instances said thoughts bubbled up in his mind in even the slightest of ways, he'd justify it by thinking "but I smoke from lots of different people, not just one guy"..

Really, honestly I think they are pretty different in the way they do the comedy, both are sketch comedy but it differs greatly, I am sure they got inspiration from Kids In The Hall but I would not call it a rip off, both a great shows. I forgot about Kids In The Hall though, thanks for the reminder, gotta go find that..
I always thought of WKUK as a crazy version of Kids In The Hall if that makes sense, more nonsensical and ridiculous, basically its different style, some can be compared I am sure, but the majority is different.

I pass about stimulants, drugs and drinks.
Never tasted any kind of drugs. I never needed it.
As long as people use it for their own use i don't have a problem neither.
Have a nice day :)

Smoke it, legalize it, I really don't care, just please, shut the **** up about it already. Not directed at OP, every pothead really.
Comment has been collapsed.
Just because someone smokes pot doesn't make them a pot head, if someone drinks a beer occasionally we don't call them beer heads....
Comment has been collapsed.
Big difference between a pothead and a pot smoker. It's the same difference between an alcoholic (beer head?) and a beer drinker.

You did 1 whole weed? Thats ok, anything under 4 and you're not gonna die, be careful.

wish it would just get legalized like alcohol with some restrictions like no driving high, or bein stupid in public
i got too old and the risks of getting in serious trouble like jailtime and probation far outway "getting high"~
i wish i could legally unwind every other friday with a factory rolled jay, that i didnt have to purchase off some really sketchy person
if you could buy a pack of 20 like cigarettes, at the gas station it would be really cool.

Possession of small amounts is decriminalized in most areas, just a fine (or "weed ticket").
