Read the FAQ/guidelines.
You have to activate all your wins in your associated Steam account.
If you own a second copy of a game, you can give that away.

@Jastrzap - It’s not really simple if the FAQ says nothing about giving away games.

say what ?
''Won gifts should be activated to the Steam account used during registration, and they should not be regifted, traded, or sold.''
its really that simple

Okay, so I feel a bit stupid. I didn't read the guidelines, I only read the FAQ. I should probably stop talking now.

@Oppenh4imer - I have read the FAQ and it said that I couldn’t give the games I win to people. It never said anything about putting them in giveaways tho, that is why I made this is to see if anyone would know. Thank you for the comment.

You can give the same games, but...that one copy of the game you win, must always be activated on your account. The only account you used to join the site
Comment has been collapsed.
@ulvercarvalho - I know that I can give away the same games. I just didn't know if I could put the game I won in a giveaway.
Comment has been collapsed.
No. All wins must be activated on your account, no exceptions.

no its against the rules... you must read the faq :P

Thank you for the comment. I’ll make sure to look at each giveaway before entering it instead of just entering every random giveaway that shows up.

@doctorofjournalism - Thanks for the comment. I hope this will help your friend? Or something.

@sunlikely - A lot of people are saying no so I guess I’ll just go with no to giving it away.

@omeganess - Okay. that kinda sucks, but it seems fair, so at least now I know that. Thank you.

The FAQ says that I can’t give it to friends or something like that, I didn’t see anything about putting it in a giveaway.

Can I enter a giveaway for a friend?
- You should only enter to win giveaways for yourself, and if you win a game, it must be activated and redeemed to the Steam account used during registration. If a friend is interesting in joining giveaways, they'll need to register for their own account.

Thank you for the comment. I will just enter giveaways that I actually want. I have read the FAQ as well.

That is called re-gifting and is a very fast way to get banned and jeered at by this community.
Comment has been collapsed.
Thanks for the comment. I won’t re-gift the games. I really don’t want to get banned so yea.
Comment has been collapsed.
Do you honestly not know what F.A.Q or "Guidelines" stand for?
Comment has been collapsed.
I do and I get that they’re the rules, I just never saw it say anything about putting them in giveaways.
Comment has been collapsed.
You must redeem all games that you win on the Steam account associated with the Steamgifts account you won them on, so you can't give those copies to anyone else.
However, if you later get additional copy the of the game you won (say, you're so happy to have won the game or enjoyed it so much that you want to pass it forwards, and bought a second copy after winning it - or if you later buy a bundle containing an extra copy of a game you've previously won or something), then you can gift that second copy, yes.

It’s good to know that, thank you. Thanks for the longest comment lol.

NO! I did that on my first win lol. dont make the same mistake!
Comment has been collapsed.
I won’t make that mistake. Did anything actually happen tho?
Comment has been collapsed.
well u gotta buy the game and reactivate it on your account, luckily my game was cheap.
during the time i didnt buy the game yet, which was around 3 months... i couldnt enter some SG protected GAs and got blacklisted.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh, that sucks. Thanks for telling me that. I'll make sure not to re-gift the games and stuff.

I didn’t think anyone would actually comment on this post of mine so a big thanks to all of you for commenting. It’s really cool to see the community/some people come together for a small discussion like this. Sorry for taking so long to reply to all of you and for the deleted comments. (I messed up while replying and stuff) Now I need to sleep, goodnight and have a good day. :)

Do you see the "Reply" button underneath each comment? If you press that and type your reply to people there, each of them will get a notification in the upper task bar (the envelop sign) and will know that you have replied to them. Your efforts are much more likely to be noticed when you do it that way, as not everybody is checking old threads they posted something weeks ago ;)
Just sayin...

Yea.......facepalms I'll do that real quick. Thank you.

your +1 is meaningless.
you would +1 anything he says... ;)

Tiny pls ;)

but but but how is that possible he wouldn't like them!?

I was just entering every giveaway that I saw and didn't actually look at if I wanted it and so I won something that was really bad. That is why I wanted to give it away. I hope that answers your question.

Think about what you just said...
You now have a game you don't want, and someone has lost the chance to win a wishlisted game.
I suggest... Use your eyeballs and look at what you enter :)
Comment has been collapsed.
hey, you two could be sitting next to each other and planing the discussion ;)

For one, there are a lot of people that just join any and every giveaway. For two, there is no way anyone would want this game. And Three I joined and thought that I would just join whatever cause I didn't think that there would be that bad of games on here and I didn't think that I would actually win anything.

Right so you are a blind sheep that follows the leeching crowd. Cool. May I ask what game it is? How do you know nobody wants it? How do you think that person feels about what you just said, that they gave away a bad game? You have rudely put down a game they have paid for and given to you. You have won before, how do you not expect to win again?
Comment has been collapsed.
Here is the game http://store.steampowered.com/app/479170/
The person that gave the game away gave out 19,900 copy's of it as well.
Comment has been collapsed.
Not really, if anything it raises more questions.
Why are you just blindly entering every giveaway there is?
Even without knowing the rules/reading the FAQ, common sense should really dictate that you can't giveaway something you've won. You winning that game stops someone who wants to win it winning it. There's winning something not playing it for a while and there's flat out winning something you don't even want or intend to even play. You are abusing people's good will which isn't really fair.

I know how mean/unfair it is but I can't really do anything about it. I didn't even know that I could say that I didn't want it and let them give it to someone else until a while after I won and redeemed it.
Comment has been collapsed.
Do not fret, you probably made a mistake by entering for this really bad game (I agree, it is bad). You have hopefully learned now that a) this site is legit, and b) that it's frowned upon to enter for games for the sake of winning and not because you're interested in the game.
May this lesson teach you wisdom and may you enjoy your further stay on Steamgifts :)

Don't be so harsh, dear. CJStrawman is a new user, and he's friendly and politely asking for stuff. We may reply in the same manner, no?
It was his first giveaway he(she?) won ever. Many people do not believe the site is even legit till they win something.

you actually answered all of the users. nice of you.
however, 4 weeks? damn, you were away...

4 weeks is nothing. I registered and started using steamgifts 3+ years later :)

I know that you can't give your games to friends and stuff but I don't know if it's alright to put the games I won in giveaways so I'm making this to ask.
