So there are quite a few GAs right now I know for a fact aren't legit, so I added that users to blacklist, and it would be cool if not just they couldn't see my GAs, but the other way around aswell.

I agree... not only because you see the fake GAs, but also like a matter of principle... why would a person want a game from someone they don't even like. And maybe would make some people think twice before blacklisting others for no reason at all.

Exactly this.

Make sense but I guess it would put on unnecessary load to the server, no?

It shouldn't, there is already a similar thing on site, but works in reverse.

For all the people saying 'Not':
You can just caveat that you want a setting in the account options for it.
There's no reason whatsoever to force everyone on the site to have to see blacklisted users giveaways.

In fact, I had one blacklisted user whitelist me because 'they wanted to spite me by proving they were better than me'.

Hey, you may feel comfortable entering that kind of weirdly presented giveaway.
Personally, I'd have prefered to not have the game- a wishlisted one, so I couldn't simply hide it- constantly popping on my results with no way to hide it other than entering it.

Of course, it's a bit of a quirk-
If people are blacklisted for trivial things [ie, their ratio, as I do blacklist people with poor ratios (but only after a win from me)], I do unblacklist them immediately if I win a game from them.

So rather, perhaps the best course is a "hide all giveaways from this user" option, that you can set per user.

Exactly this, would be even better if done as designated feature.

Wouldn't the blacklisted user telling you that they are spiting you because they are better make them worse?

No. It clearly makes them better... they even said so.

If it's optional, yes, and on a per-user basis.

I'd just write an userscript for that if it really bothered me.

There is also another option: don't use blacklist, like me :3.

If optional, then yes. If mandatory for everyone (like similar idea suggested before - cannot entering GAs of BLed users) then no. Quite a lot of users use BL to give better chances other users aka after someone wins their GA they temporary BL him to give others better chances. I've seen it in events and groups as well. It would suck if because of this user would not be able to see/enter GAs of his previous winners.

I was going to suggest this, but I was just thinking about how to get this right.

First I'd thought that if we blacklist somebody, we should be added his/her blacklist automatically as well, because I felt this is not fair that we can still win his/her gifts but s/he can't win ours. But maybe s/he really doesn'tt care about being blacklisted and wants us to have change chance. (Same goes for the OP's suggestion.)

After that, I though maybe s/he gets a notification about being blacklisted by someone. This leads to him/her to know when s/he was blacklisted so s/he can learn about what s/he did and remove if s/he wrote someting or will change his/her behaviors in the future. This is like hypocrisy and it's not right as well.

I'm still not sure how to do this right. But I thin kthat it should be done on a per-user basis.

Blacklisting should work both ways, by listing each other automatically.

Permalink

That would be a simple solution for this.

I blacklisted someone for the purpose of not seeing them anymore. At the time, I had no idea that was not how it worked at all.

I do agree with people saying that blacklisting should go both ways. It's a bit of a cost for some people who have large blacklists, but I don't see why you'd want to partake in the giveaways of someone you've blacklisted. I'd been under the impression you blacklist someone for not following through on things or being spammy with the giveaways (the dudes I blacklisted constantly has the same giveaways over and over again), or for giving away stolen goods and such.
