Gonna jump on?
I enjoyed Stories on PS4 so I've joined in. Bump :)

Requires a Big Brother Google account. No thanks 👀
"independent gaming industry", supports the largest Internet monopoly of all times. Oops 🙃

Yeah, that annoyed me as well. But I'm pretty sure YouTube accounts qualify as Google accounts although I haven't tried yet.

Well, considering that a Youtube account is in fact a Google account... 👀

Yeah, I'm proably playing Captain Obvious here but it wasn't when I created it and was converted later on so I thought I'd point it out anyway in case not anybody knows.

Good point, it's sad how so many people aren't aware that the "2 companies" are one and the same. (not even to mention Alphabet...)

Add to that the hilariously sad fact that most people don't know that Android is developed by Google. If you have an Android device, you have a Google account. You can't access the app store without one, it's called the Google Play Store for a reason.
Or the fact that there are still people who don't know that Gmail stands for Google Mail.

I once chatted in the train with a guy who thought Android was a CPU... That was one long depressing ride 😵

Yeah and apparently they now force you to give them your phone number: with every new phone I create a new, specific account (because Play Store), but my latest one was blocked pretty quickly and it seems it's because I didn't fill in the phone number (not in their wildest dreams lol). Thank god for the alternative application stores (Aptoide, APKPure and of course F-Droid, to name a few, even though Google makes it as painful as possible to use alternative stores without rooting your phone)

That's even more impressive considering the original selling point of Gmail was that it was "a mailbox with the power of Google Search(TM)". And it still is for many people, despite the fact that many competitors have as good of a search now.

Hahahahahhahahahahahaha, oh my, that's terrible. xD

I haven't tried it in a while (had to go back to stock) but the apk's from APKMirror (by Androidpolice) used to work even if you didn't have to Google Play Store installed or had it frozen in TB. Sideloading apk's thankfully never required root, just the option 'Unknown Sources' enabled in settings.

Yeah but you need to hit that annoying "install" button for every single update :/

Never got around to buying Stories so I'll probably jump on this, although I have no idea what screenshot they require. The store page? Your own wishlist with Omensight on it? The message in your activity feed when you wishlist something? (Maybe I'm missing something obvious as I just woke up, but I don't see any info other than "take a screenshot" on that link)

I think any, as long as it shows that you wishlisted the game. I sent the wishlist page, since it has 3 items on mine with Omensight. But I guess the activity feed one should suffice as well. (I honestly cannot remember if the feed displays own wishlist items, I turned most message types off.)

I loved stories so much <3 Now I just hope that over 9000 people that don't care and just want to strike free +1 are going to join like always
Edit: Now that I see you will get Stories I don't care, go everyone that wants it! Really cool game

Bought Stories: TPoD on the Summer 2017 sale... and have yet to play it...
Lol, me too :D

I won it here too. Tip: do not attempt the final two super-grindy achievements. It turned a really good game I enjoyed a lot into a game I couldn't wait to uninstall.

I've always felt that achievements in games are detrimental to their enjoyment. Sure, a lot of people enjoy achievements but are they then really enjoying the game in and of itself?
Sometimes I feel like I should spend some time "completing" some of the games I've spent hundreds of hours playing anyway but I've only managed to complete one kind of grindy game yet, and that was by "accident". For some reason, I just couldn't get enough of The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing so I ended up killing > 500000 enemies

Yeah, I think there are lots of games like that. There are also some games with really good achievements-- a mix of progression-related, skill-related, content-completion related, and kind of, "do things in an interesting way"-related.
I always like to offer up Remember Me as an example of a game with really good, diverse, achievements with no super-grindy or nearly impossible achievements. It also happens to be one of my favorite games in recent memory, which the achievements actually contributed to as I achieved 100%.

I figure that if you enjoy the game you should actually have a decent chance of completing all of the achievements without having to spend an enormous amount of time grinding when you'd naturally be ok with not spending any further time in the game.

Joined in, didn't know about this games but they look great, thanks for the heads up!

Game looks decent enough, wouldn't probably wishlist it without the promo but I'll gladly play it if I can get my hands on it. Thanks for the info! :)

The creators of Stories: The Path of Destinies, Spearhead Games are about to release their next ARPG-like adventure/mystery hybrid, Omensight.
Currently, they are running a promotion on the official site. Simply put, wishlist Omensight on Steam, screencap it, and send it to the devs as sort of a group effort.
https://www.omensight.com/wishlist-quest/
Oh yes, the quest runs until official release. It is on 15 May, but the easiest to see that is to open the Steam page, since it should have an hour counter in the last days or so.
Since I know the community here loves freebie games, I should mention that one of the lower goals is sending Steam keys to all participants for Stories: TPoD. Yes, potential to farm some CV with one click of a button, if enough people jump on the bandwagon.
(Since I bought Omensight, I am hoping for the artbook and OST, but hey, whatever it needs to make some people do something. :3)
Edit: Also, if you don't mind risking on the usual pre-order business (as a small-scale studio, the game is almost surely going to be buggy), the game itself is at -20% right now at Humble Store (-28% for Monthly suscribers), meaning it is around 12€. The discount lasts until game launch, too.
Sadly, no news yet about a GOG release (Stories is on GOG)Omensight is on GOG too, but they did not put it up before launch. Damn, and I already activated my Steam key. :/====================
Aaaaand it is over now. Got to 50k+, woohoo! (Free OST! :3)
