There are already a lot of good TV show that were mentioned, but not this one which is pretty awesome for a first season ! "Limitless". It's based on the movie of the same name and it's it sequel, so you have to watch the movie first. Last episode of the s01 is set in 2 weeks.

The Night Manager is a must-watch. This series is based on a novel by John le Carré, directed by Susanne Bier (one of the most well-known Danish movie directors). Stars: Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman.

Breaking Bad: fantastic actors, especially the two leads; no "heroes" or "villains," but ever-shifting roles; excellent writing; character arcs that are unpredictable yet also credible, with well-established motivations; solid pacing throughout; not a single bad episode; great ending. Sample scene.

Jessica Jones: brilliant villain; great protagonist, who is messy and rude and often immoral (unusual traits for a female character); stylish noir atmosphere; low-key superheroes; mature subjects like rape and PTSD. Sample trailer.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: intense, character-driven season arcs (starting from Season 2 and on); zippy, endlessly quotable dialogue; compelling and flawed cast, including the protagonist; numerous classic episodes, e.g., "Hush," "The Body," "Once More with Feeling." Sample scene.

Community: lovely ensemble; smashing, off-the-wall, geeky humor; no laugh track; never engulfed by its romantic pair-ups, unlike other sitcoms. Sample scene.

Misfits: tongue-in-cheek British take on the superhero genre (similar to "Shaun of the Dead" in many ways); unlimited foul language; superb characters and actors. Opening scene.

Others: Veronica Mars, The IT Crowd, You're the Worst, Futurama, Archer, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Angel, Dollhouse.
