Does it bother you to but put on a black list?
I'd rather have a pair of whatever Batman uses. I'm pretty sure his are Multispectrum.

And you will feel better. :)

You know, I'm never sure of when to say thank you and when to just stay quiet. I feel like most people prefer not to have their inbox filled, but then I know that some people want the positive feed back. I guess it's a "Damned if you do, damned if you don't." Sort of things.

Say thanks AFTER you won and activated the games never hurts. No one ever dislike that, it's a sign of a polite people who appreciate the gift.

The kind of thanks that people hate are the generic thanks many make when they enter a giveaway. Many perceive those thanks as coming from bots and they blacklist them. They also get annoyed by the numerous notifications.
No one, and I mean, no one, dislikes when you thank them AFTER you have won a game. You should ALWAYS do that. ALWAYS.

I stopped caring when I got blacklisted for making "too many giveaways at once." Apparently my strategy of stockpiling keys and making all them public giveaways at once really annoyed someone.
I've also been blacklisted for suggesting that someone might want to highlight that "United States" was part of his 35-ish country region lock. My reasoning in my comment was "I nearly missed it, and I think others may have done the same because the list of regions doesn't sound like it includes North America at first". He replied to me saying that "The US isn't any more or less important than any of the other countries on that list" and blacklisted me. Hilariously, I got a reply from someone else thanking me for pointing out that the US was included.
And yet I didn't add either of those people to my blacklist. Everyone's free to do whatever they want with their lists, white and black. If they were intended to need a good reason, there'd be a box for the reason. Since there's no such box, there's no reason to feel bad about a blacklist.

I get most of my blacklists when people find out I'm gay .-. (Not even kidding)

More examples of super classy behavior. :(
I think I can feel better if it's those types of people black listing me..

Can you tell me the reason why would someone have their sexuality so clearly stated on their steam account, as is the case with you?
Comment has been collapsed.
It's Pride. Mostly to show others who may have the same feelings, but not the courage to show it (or think it's something wrong) that it's not wrong.
And to prevent homophobic people from adding me, to prevent dispute. (To be honest it's more this one lol)
Also it's just one of many lines describing me - I like to give information about me.
But it's not that people visit my profile and then they blacklist me, but I always end up getting a couple of blacklists when writing anything on the forums which shows in any way that I'm gay (e.g. my answer inside the marriage thread lately caused me a few blacklists).

Is it ok if I add you on steam? I have couple of questiones I'd like to ask you in private.

No idea why I'm on the blacklists I'm on, but I don't care tbh as I barely enter giveaways.

Don't worry about blacklists - if someone doesn't do forum giveaways, you'll likely never ever find out that you're blacklisted by that person because it will just hide the public giveaways. Also all you lose is chance of winning games, not even guaranteed that any of them would be interesting for you :)

In all fairness, I can pretty much guarantee that I would black list my brother if he were on this site.

I already share my entire steam library with him. There's no reason he should get my giveaways.
Also, he's a butt head.

Here on SG you can get blacklisted for breathing.
The only real low ones are those that blacklist you and at the very same time enter your giveaways. That's imho why it's a good plan if you find out that someone has blacklisted you to return the favor.

I had that happen to me earlier this week, I was blacklisted because I disagreed with someone. I was correct in what I said but then the next day they enter one of my giveaways. I don't normally care if I'm blacklisted or not, I did think about adding them but unsure if I was able to while they had already entered my giveaway. I'm a big softy so I may just let them off this time after all they did learn something new. xD

Yay! Wait, no. That was the opposite of what I wanted! :O
I did get black listed by a bunch of people for this thread but I kind of expected it. And honestly, it doesn't bother me nearly as much when I know the reason why. I guess the angst was over wondering if I had inadvertently hurt someone's feeling.

You'll just have to ignore them, a lot of people in this community just have no sense of what a community really is.

I only blacklist on 3 occasions.
They blacklisted me first.
They are found trolling me or someone else. (Seriously. It's a giveaway site. No one should be trolling.)
They are running around making posts that are incendiary in nature. Like literally just being a complete ass to someone else who did nothing to them. Just generally being a terrible person.
That was not in any particular order. my blacklists in how common they are likely fall in reverse order. The only reason I blacklist though is because steamgifts doesn't have a block button, which is what I really want. Win my giveaways or not idc. I just don't want to be able to communicate with them. And blacklisting is all SG gives you. So long as you're not an ass, not a troll, or aren't blacklisting others then don't worry about who blacklists you. Might just be some elitist who is mad you've won more gifts than you've given even though your ratio is positive =P

The first rule of Blacklist Club is: You do not talk about Blacklist Club. The second rule of Blacklist Club is: You do not talk about Blacklist Club.

Yeah, I got blacklisted one day, and I have no idea why. I wish that in order to blacklist someone that you had to provide a reason so that there is some kind of communication. Because hey, I think I'm a nice guy and certainly didn't piss anyone off on purpose, but if for some reason I'm accidentally doing something stupid, I'd like to know about it so that I can fix it.
I'd also like to know if someone else is just a giant douchebag so that I can avoid their petty crap. XD

I made similar topic and it was just another reason for people to blacklist me ;p If some people are assholes and want to blacklist you for dumbest possible reason, they will, because they're looking for it ;p it's probably the only option for them to feel so powerful! They can decide finaly about somehing! :D Just ignore that, there are some awesome people here that won't blacklist you because of dumb reason, and that's the people who you should care about :)
I was even blacklisted few times probably because somebody didn't win my ga :P I can't find other reason because I wasn't doing anything else at that time here :D I'm now on 33 blacklists and 24 whitelists and I don't really care anymore, you can't just do anything about it :) I'm just slowly getting my WL higher

So, I'm relatively quiet on this site. I visit regularly but I don't comment much. I giveaway some games and I frequently enter public giveaways. I also try really hard to follow the rules and not ruffle any feathers. Despite this, I still find myself on some black lists. Now, I'm not judging anyone for that. Everyone's black/white list is their own prerogative. Maybe they have some very specific rules for how they decide who gets put on that list. Maybe it's just random. Maybe I got suuuper drunk and called their mother a hamster and I just forgot. I don't know. Still, I feel sad when I find myself on a black list. I never intended to agitate anyone.
What do you guys thing?
