I prefer doing it by e-mail regardless of the form. If the game is a key, simply paste the key into the e-mail body and send directly to their inbox. If it is a Steam Gift, go into your inventory, click "Send Gift", paste their e-mail in the e-mail box, click next, type a message to the person, and click "Send Gift" For a key link (ex. Humble, Gala, etc.), go to where the link is located, paste their e-mail in the matching box, and click "Send Gift".

I prefer giving mine through Steam chat or using the Steam Trade window. I also take screenshots to use as evidence that I really did give this person the key/game I bought for the giveaway.
