origin, gog etc games are not allowed here for a reason. they're easy to be exploited since you can't easily check them like games in steam library. so i guess the answer should be no, you crazy fuzzy llama.

In any case if i am a person living on Argentina and buy hardware (if avaible, though i am most sure it will be only for US at start) then they will have to ship it here, they dont have a building here so i dont expect them to ask me to pay all the taxes and all that shit (that with my countrys absurds laws and policys it could get to be even the 80% of the product bought)

They most sure will have to do an importation agreement to every country that they will sell it

I hope and believe not. The other aspect is mailing address – there would have been some authentification process etc. and let's say... That's not something I would personally like to handle with if I were cg.
No one would prevent you from sending it as a bonus to Bad Rats though. :p

Well looking forward to the Trade Threads:
[H] Steambox [W] T-72, must be former Warsaw Pact

Probably not. I can think of only one SG user who is generous enough to do something like that.

How about this... If there were to be a hardware section, each giveaway is limited to a certain region. So that only people in that region can enter. That means you get to set how far you're willing to ship the giveaway.

I heard how wonderful steam support is, i think ill still buy my hardware on my usual sites. I don't think steam will do that, but if they do, i guess SG will have to check that after they know the procedure of gifting to know if they add that or not. Until then lets not have hope that can be crush.

I doubt you will be able to buy hardware as a gift. You will not be able to store gift card for the hardware in your inventory. I might also be a big legal hassle for SG to start dealing with expensive real world items. What happens the first time a $2,000 computer is not delivered to the winner? What happens when Steam wants $1300 for ship to Antarctica? Who pays that? I think SG would need to hire a legal department just to deal with the fallout.

That is a good question! I've noticed you can add hardware to your wishlist. I am sure it would be limited, as others have stated above. With that said though, since Valve is going 3rd party with their hardware, I think it's safe to say that most of the Steam Machines will be sold through Amazon, so there is a good chance they may allow GAs on them.
I know the Alienware Alphas are currently up on Amazon and can be entered into an Amazon GA (I actually as a joke posted one of the cheaper ones of those up as a suggestion in your one Amazon GA suggestion thread).
If you can, you sooooo need to buy me this!!!!
Kidding :P

If Steam makes it possible to gift hardware, will it be added to SG?
