Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! Fireworks are fun but they scare the dogs, so we stayed inside and watched Independence Day instead :P

I prefer local government/council/municipality/whatever organized fireworks shows, the buy-your-own stuff is usually either too boring or made for warzones...

I exploded around $100 in explosives. Felt real good. Marxists don't know what they are missing.

I love this day. As is proper, the air is blue and thick with fireworks smoke. It was a good day.

I like fireworks as much as the next guy, but it's been going on for a whole week here. I have to walk my dog during the heat of the day instead of after sundown because of all the explosions. She doesn't seem to mind while we're inside, but she's reverting to some of her early scared behaviors outside because of all of this.

Aside from my personal inconvenience, fireworks caused a fire in my city earlier this week, and some asshole threw a firecracker through a window into a kids' gym class and burned a little girl. I can't believe some people.

So yeah, I'm a little grumpy this year. I'm not going to say don't do it, but if you're going to set off fireworks please be considerate of your neighbors and please, please be safe!
