As a member of Playing Matters moderator team, I'd like to emphasize that our group is oriented into beating all the possible wins. Not just trying/starting won games and dropping them. Beating games is totally not just about getting 25% of achievements either. Majority of games unlocks 25% of achievements way before being beaten and these dropped wins are not what we are looking for with our requirements. We have to look into each applying user personally.
While for members of PM the maintenance rule will be checked using Kelnage's scripts plus by periodically looking into playing statistics (to counter cheating etc.), when we are checking accounts of a person who applies to the group, we wish to see more than 50% of wins beaten. If account has less than half of wins taken a good care or if this percentage is unclear for us, we will prefer the future member of PM to play more of their wins first before entering our small community, where mostly everyone exceeds our minimal requirements by a decent margin and deserves similarly responsible and passionate winners.
We are totally not in hurry to make our group bigger.
I'd like to emphasize also, that entering our group and winning games outside of the group, which will not be played, will not be taken lightly. A decent and honest person should learn to control own appetites and possibilities. While we don't have specific formal rules regarding members' wins outside of PM, our group is created for people who believe that playing SG wins is the only correct approach to received gifts and who acts correspondingly and consistently to it (with the only relaxation regarding very old wins, which are still encouraged to be given a decent try). Our group's formal rules are a projection of our ideas/ideals, not the other way around, so everyone who wants to join, please seriously consider if you are up to our standards and course.

I might be interested as a guest gifter. I've been looking for a group like this to make giveaways for, I only found 2, one is not currently recruiting and the other one seems too lenient/vague with their requirements for playing the wins.
But I'm not too sure about doing this as private giveaways, since it means that if someone wins one of my giveaways but was recently kicked because they didn't play a win for example, it's not possible to reroll them.
Comment has been collapsed.
How do you like an option of creating an invite-only giveaway, which will be shared inside our group through our Mod team?
This is not protected from members being removed from our group, but the nature of our group implies such cases as a rarity.
If GA will be leaked, as far as I understand incorrect winner can be rerolled.

Is this thread temporary or will it remain open ? I'll probably check back in the future
Comment has been collapsed.
I guess for now I don't have to worry about winners kicked for not finishing a group win in due time since the group just started, I'll start making some giveaways once you have reviewed the applications and sent the invites
Comment has been collapsed.
That is a great idea for a group.
Kelnage’s script says: ≥25% complete: 50.0% (7/14) Barely fits minimum requierements. But it doesn't seem to include my first win (Borderlands: Game of the year) which is only 13% complete.
I will come back after I play some more ;)

Oh, hi there Lilith! It's good to se you have your own playing oriented group now. Always thought you needed one. Especially when I saw you trying to make your own rules in PA group GAs ;)
About that bare %50, I just think about the future: If I happen to win a game with these rates I will need to leave the group right? That means I'll keep leaving (or mods kicking me :D) and re-apllying for the group, That will create unnecessary extra work for group mods and I don't want that.

I guess I'm stating that I'd like to apply. I don't have any scripts installed to check my own stats, but I think I meet the requirements. If I don't, oh well, it happens, no harm done :)
My favourite SG wins were Hollow Knight and Dark Souls 2, both games I absolutely loved and played for many hours. Hollow Knight I actually very much want to replay once all the DLC is out. It's my second favourite game from 2017 after Hellblade.
And here's my BLAEO profile. Haven't really had the time to post anything in there for a long time though.

It's not that I don't want to play those games, I just really don't have the time. And I'm moving to another country in less than two weeks, so I don't see it happening any time soon. Oh well, it's not exactly the end of the world, is it? ^^

(Oops am butting in) Best of luck with your move! Hope everything's smooth sailing and you enjoy your new home. :)

I'm sorry! Sadly Steam doesn't provide me with an easy way to check whether an achievement needs a DLC or not, so I'm afraid I have to assume none of them do. Would be a great feature for them to include - the only other option would be checking something like AStats, who manually categorise them - but right now I don't have time to implement such a feature.

I honestly do not wish to discuss it anymore, your last comment was pretty offensive towards my gaming self.
But I'll say this. I got a 81% play on my whole library and if I remove payday 2 of my account I'll have ~78% achievements unlocked, with a game which I still didnt start (Mafia 3).
Good luck with your group and have fun. Sorry if I offended you any way for causing you to delete me and having such a lack of desire of wanting me. Again if I offended you it would of been unintentional. Bye.

Yes, everyone needs to control their playing themselves in all regards. This information is included in our FAQ. Members who fail to maintain the minimum requirements will be removed from the group first, and offered the explanation and an advice of how to return back into the group second.
Comment has been collapsed.
While you satisfy the absolute required minima over all your wins, you will drop below these as soon as you get any gift, and in this case will be removed from the group immediately. I want to note, that this would be our group rule breaking, avoiding which is every member's own responsibility. Reapplying to the group after correcting the reasons behind the removal may not guarantee the entrance. Hence, we suggest you rediscovering the wins you didn't play yet [much]. Maybe one of these is a pretty good game :)

Rules do say that I can give reasons and what so of what has happened and what so ever.
1) Skullgirls - I finished the campaign, the achievements require mastery over all characters which would take me months to unlock.
2) Portal 2 - I finished the campaign, the achievements require a co-op partner which is nearly impossible to find as I need to be someone who I am used to playing together and manage to teamwork proper
3) Payday - Finished main missions, the achievements require a co-op partners with a high skill level and it will take me ages to both find and farm them
Edit: Forgot to mention that I had bough payday 2 few months later which contains payday 1 inside it, so I basically replayed it a lot of times in that one.
4) Two Worlds 2 - I had to finish it after chapter 1 on offline mode as I was out of the city with my PC and had no net, so my hours and achievs arent counted to
5) Drakensang: The River of Time - No achievements, finished in offline mode, wasn't home
6) BloodRayne Betrayal - offline mode and the achievements are pretty hardcore.
7) Dead Island: Game of the Year Edition - need friends to finish the achievements, even if I got a major part and I will get one free as soon as I launch the game
8)The Walking Dead - had to play last chapter in offline mode so my last chapter achievements arent there, plus I did not win the DLC so I cant get the DLC ones.
9) Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (Classic, 2005) - no achievements, but finished the game on all difficulties few times
10) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - offline mode! Didnt have net for months so had to play this one then
11) BioShock Infinite - finished it twice, got 100% unlocked of what I won, the season pass was bought by me and I have it nearly fully unlocked
So you can review it again and do the math without the script if you want. Cause that thing cant detect the minor factors I just told you.
But as you decide, your group after all :p And I doubt I'd win anything any time soon, mostly people do giveaways of the 10,132 games I got hidden anyway :p I mean my main page currently contains only 9 giveaways at total.
Comment has been collapsed.
Question is not in anyone's personal decisions, we have a proper system, rules and checking criteria. Even if selected individuals could trust you, this is not credible for all our group members, whom we represent as a mod team, kapy.
These kinds of explanations can not work for the group giveaways either, of course. Maybe you will win more games and play them online, or will be in a mood for rediscovery ;)
This should be pretty much understandable.

Hi there,
I am interested in joining.
It is hard to pick a favorite win, but I have had the most fun with Wasteland 2 Directors Cut and The Last Remnant. Heck, I'm still trying to finish The Last Remnant, that game is looooooooooooooooong. Additionally, the Shadowrun series is a lot of fun.
Feel free to contact me via Steam or anything else. Furthermore, feel free to ask any questions (if needed).
Thank you for your time :)

From what I personally see, you have an incredible amount of fine games won, especially more than a year ago. There is a lot of highly wishlisted games of their time, not touched or played a bit and dropped.
How can you comment about this, and what is your approach to wins today?
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't know how satisfactory you find this reasoning yourself, but if you would have won all these games from me, I would find this utterly outrageous, and I see no reason to discard all the other gifters on this site. This sounds as quite superficial approach to efforts and resources of others. Hopefully you can learn to distinguish your type of games in future much better. That's why I asked what is your approach to wins today, not only about RPGs.
Note that this is my personal thoughts, not mod team response, and your total statistics is passing the absolute minimum :) I'd like our current and future members to give the gifting a second thought. Every nice thing others do to you matters, and every nice thing can be multiplied only be someone who cares.

Hello terminatorOST,
thank you for applying for P!M!
Sadly your numbers don't work out for us at the moment. If you could give a few more of your wins a go, we will happily have you reapply!
I'm sorry to hear, Rocket League doesn't work out for you anymore due to other players. I hope you can/have already found another awesome game!
I'm looking forward to hearing from you again!

Even if I'd pass the rule of maintaining 50% played wins I'd probably fail miserably with 25% of completed achievements cos I don't really care about them at all :P In other words I am giving this thread a free bump cos I like the idea! Even though I am shamlesly far from being a respected member in the terms of playing the wins :') But I'm slowly working on it.
Comment has been collapsed.
This is fairly close to impossible to beat most games without earning 25% of achievements, even not hunting for them. More frequently, it is the other way around: many games pop up 25% of achievements way before the games can be considered beaten or given a decent try.
We don't look only into the script results when researching a potential group member.
There are games which can be beaten before earning many achievements, and some games are broken, sometimes Steam doesn't sync. Hence we have already only as low minimal requirement as 50% of games with 25% of achievements completed.
You can do this :)

Oh, sorry, that was meant as a joke -- I actually DID get into the group, but I was not sure whom to thank, so I ended up thanking myself in that message. :D
(But I see now that, if you suppose I was waiting for the acceptance, it could be seen as a bitter ironic comment -- sorry, that was not my intention!)
Anyway, now that you are here -- thank you for considering me apt for the group! :D It is a honor, and more than that, it is good to know that I am actually playing my wins (well, most of them, I still have many to go), it makes me feel good. :D
Many cheers!

But how will I read your inner monologue if you do stop replying to yourself?

Hold on... I am twice as stupid as I thought...
I assumed I was in because I was able to enter this group GA... but I just looked, and I do not show up as a member of the group anywhere... So I was really bamboozled for a while, until I realized...
...that GA is also a Whitelist GA, and I got in not because of the group, but because of the WL.
So, feel free to ignore everything I said -- I am still in line to be considered for membership. Take your time, I will wait for the voting, no rush. :D
Cheers!

I tend to play a game to the end before I start a new one... That's why you will see many games I finished, and many I did not touch, and few in between (I never idle for cards either, so if you see hours in it, I played it).
More specifically, I use Depressurizer to categorize the games, look at many things like Review scores and Time to Beat. I also have a nearly OCD spreadsheet with everything that was ever released on Steam (which includes review scores, date I finished the game, my review scores, where I got it from, etc.). So, I look at those things, mix it with a super heavy dose of "what am I in the mood for today", and then I go for it.
Currently, I am going for "Kathy Rain" -- I was in the mood for a slower game, so a point-and-click adventure fit the mood.

I know. If I get below the required threshold, it is my understanding that I can always ask to leave the group, play a bit more of my wins, and then later ask to rejoin... Well, I will certainly try to avoid a possible "yo-yo" effect if I get in -- not only to satisfy requirements, but because there are a lot of fun games to play in my SG list, I want to play them! :D
Cheers!
Comment has been collapsed.
No, you should read our rules, guidelines and FAQ more thoroughly before applying :) Members getting below the threshold, when checked by mod team, will be removed from the group with no warning beforehand. This is breaking the group rule. Every member agrees to follow our rules when applies to the group.
Hence, the next time the same person reapplies to the group, the circumstances of the previous episode can lower the chances that we will trust the person in following the group rules in future, which is obvious considering the previous rule breaking. There can not be a "yo-yo" effect. It is in power of most SG users just to play more of own wins, removing the whole bother both for themselves and for the moderator team, and if the user doesn't choose to do so, it is their completely own choice.
The only exception we can give is for members who have so low number of wins that they can not do anything to prevent statistics drop before they win next gift (e.g. they don't have a win with achievements at all yet). But since we are going to handle every such person exclusively and make additional arrangements and agreements with them, based on trust the mod team gives to them, we don't include this in FAQ.
In any case, I hope this clears the topic of the maintaining the wins, and hopefully you are embracing the idea of giving a decent shot to all future wins in a timely manner :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Hi, all!
Apart from applying to join, I want to say that I love the ideals of the group.
I constantly work on my wins and whenever I gift, I like those gifts to be played. Therefore - here I am! \o/ :D
Oooof... toughy... I seriously cannot say I have a favorite win, since I won so many great games that I love playing, but let's say my most played one is The Elder Scrolls Online with almost 200hrs in it :) And I am still playing it. Or Borderlands 2, for which the great tso184 randomly and surprisingly hunted me down and gifted me more DLCs. To that game I gotta show more justice, but I am waiting for my gf to get a new PC, because its much more fun to play in co-op xD
Looking forward to hear from you management, tehehe ;)
P.S. There is a typo in the FAQ, it is missing a "you" in the "You can re-apply once bring..."
Not trying to be an a-hole, just pointing it out xD
What happens when my played win percentage drops below the required 50%?
It is our members' responsibility to keep track of their stats so you will be removed from the group without previous warning. You can re-apply once bring your win played percentage back up.

Another group when you have to play wins? I'm in.
≥25% complete: 50.0% (6/12), completed: 8.33% (1/12) for me.
Some of my wins were totally not my cup of tea, and that's a shame, but i'm trying to play all of them. And I'm gonna beat Slain for 100%. My favourite was suprisingly Chroma Squad. At first i thought it was some casual turn based RPG (well, it was), but I had a blast. It wasn't very much of a challenge for me, but I played on medium difficulty, maybe that's why. And the jokes were so bad that I laughed couple of times. Anyway, game was an unexpected gem and I hope to win some more of these.
And I hate that the addon is counting Guacamelee two times (gold and super turbo championship edition), I beat the turbo edition and I don't feel like doing it again with a version that has less content.
Comment has been collapsed.
Hi, if looking through all your wins including the ones without achievements, you have tried less than half of your wins, hence you can not apply yet to our group. Plus, script-wise your statistics show absolute minimum and will drop below it if you win any game, which would be breaking our group rule (hopefully, you have read our rules, guidelines and FAQ).
Personally, I want to know of your plans regarding Wasteland 2: Director's Cut which you have won already 2 months ago but haven't yet tried.
In any case, we would love to see you reapply in future, when you discover more of your wins and have a solid basis for our group members to sincerely welcome you as one of us :3
Comment has been collapsed.
the script shows wasteland 2 data, not the director's cut. its related to how steamgifts keeps the old game ID instead of the "redux".
same happens with games like van helsing 1-2-3 vs final cut, and skyrim vs special edition.
you can link achievements and play time from the newer version if you want instead. ^3

Hello, familiar BLAEO faces. May I join? :)
My favorite win has been Victor Vran, with honorable mentions to QUBE and The Beginner's Guide. Victor Vran is a unique ARPG with 3D jumping/dodging movement and card equipment based character builds (no skill trees). It feels very different from any other ARPG I've played and I hope to get the DLC for it eventually.

I'm not sure how to use the script. Could someone run it on my profile? I'd be curioos to see how i fair. I would like to apply, still have few games to get through tho.
Favorite sg win... probably Rise of the Tomb Raider. I do like adventure games, but not usually fan of challenges (definitely not because I suck at them...). The game itself was great, I never felt bored going through the story and can't wait until the next one comes out.

You are one of few SG people who have won so many games and have played most of them!
Personally, I have noticed that you didn't play a big part of games DLCs for which you have won (there is a small number of these though), is there any particular reason for this? They are really hard to notice and check!
Comment has been collapsed.
The stats are lying a bit, as I have won 14 games that have achievements, but they are not working tho I have finished them. Basically I do have at least 1 achievement in every game except Unearthing Colossal and after 2 hours of game play, I think I might never get one...
About the DLC's, there is a lot of them... From top of my head, I think I have played most of them. Most of them show as 0 min played as you actually play the main game not the dlc.
I did start from top of my head, but had to cheat and check the lists a bit. There was few that I haven't played and the only reason for that is that I have totally missed them (BLAEO not showing them...). At least found about 10 games to play tho (already installed 3 of them), so thanks for the tip. ^^
Anyways, there are lots of giveaways that I have won before 2017 that I wouldn't participate now days.
That became a wall of text...

I was checking manually and stumbled upon the base games with fewer acquired achievements and low time.
For instance, Rise of Flight; base game Brutal Legend wasn't played, but since DLC is a soundtrack, it is difficult to relate. And some more I can not recognize from this list. But this answers the question of course.
Thanks for answer, I stand corrected about the biggest part of DLCs:) A positive note.

Hi, I'm applying to join. I only enter for games I would to play, and try to play my wins, and this group seems to echo my own beliefs and practices.
It's hard to pick a favorite SG win, but the one I've had the most fun with is Saints Row: Gat out of Hell. I had never played a Saints Row game before, and was delighted by the humour of the game and the ridiculously over-the-top power fantasy of it. It was very silly, and very fun, and the cutscene in the middle may be my favorite video game cutscene ever.
Oh, and here's the script results for me:
Avg. Achievement Percentage 61.2%
Games with ≥1 Achievement 90.0% (9/10)
Achievement Rates chart ≥25% complete: 70.0% (7/10), completed: 40.0% (4/10)

I play my wins and enter only for games I plan on playing (for the past couple of years) and would like to join the group, but I'm not at 50%. Mostly because I am a completionist and I try to get the all achievements (to some sane level).Currently at 93,7% average completion rate.
Current stats:
Games with any Playtime
40.5% (90/222)
Games with Playtime...
≥5 hours: 19.4% (43/222), ≥10 hours: 14.4% (32/222
Avg. Achievement Percentage
93.7%
Games with ≥1 Achievement
45.7% (64/140)
Achievement Rates chart
≥25% complete: 45.7% (64/140), completed: 32.1% (45/140)
I think my favorite SG win was Life is Strange, I made me really think about my life and the choices I make in life.

Hey SanderHyrax,
oh, I totally get this 100%ing thing. It took me quite some willpower to slack a bit with it. As long as you can enjoy every game, it's all worth it though!
But sadly, withouth having 50% minimum reached, we have to wait a bit, before we can make some room for you. I hope you can understand that.
I hope to see you soon again!
And yes, LiS was very, very good! I loved the game! <3
Have a great time and happy backlog killing ;)

One of our group incentives is to play wins not only from the playing-rule groups, but we aim to play all gifts we get [and this should show by deed from now on as minimum], because we believe that this is right approach. Please be mindful of this :)

May I join even though I haven't won anything yet? There's nothing about that in the rules and FAQ, so I'm a bit confused.
I'd second Hollow Knight as my favorite win, if I actually had a chance to win it before the purchase (never heard of this website until very recently). Such beauty... It's a work of art, that most likely will take your breath away.

This discussion is closed for personal reasons - don't worry there will be a new one ;)
Playing Matters is a group that values playing wins from SteamGifts. We hope to create a respectable and dependable platform to unite friendly and passionate gamers.
Our group is not so much about making giveaways, but about enjoying what we already have and sharing fun with like-minded people. We aim to create a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere in our group.
We fully encourage fun little chats to take place in our group giveaways. Additionally we have our own Discord server for our members to make new friends and enjoy each other’s company while also enjoying our wins.
Before applying to join our group, please make sure that:
How to apply:
If you meet the requirements mentioned above and want to join, reply to this topic stating that you are applying to the group and tell us a bit about your favourite SG win. It doesn’t have to be much - maybe a sentence or two.
Creating a BLAEO account is not required but we’d still like you to post the link to your profile if you have it, whether you use it actively or not.
We will have a look at your profile(s) and contact you in due time.
We hope to see you among us. Have fun winning games and playing them!
Please don’t send friend requests to mods or admins.
If your application is rejected please don’t allow this to break your spirit. Instead use it as a motivation to discover and enjoy new games among your SG wins. Who knows maybe your next favourite game is right around the corner.
