It's not from 2012, but the game ive been enjoying the most is by far Hitman: Blood Money ! But from 2012 the games I've had most fun with were Torchlight 2 and Hotline Miami !

I haven't tried Absolution yet, but many people seem to regard it as a stripped down version of the previous games which put me off buying it completely... =/

Far Cry 3, as the gameplay has been really smooth for me and I have had a lot of fun playing it. The story is also pretty neat too.
I must say though, Don't Starve comes really close... At first, I did not think I'd enjoy Don't Starve, but the gameplay itself along with the art style has won me over. :) If you guys don't have it, I suggest getting it.

Most likely Far Cry 3, I especially loved the beginning sequences of when you are scrounging for ammo and conserving pretty much everything before you actually level up to a point where you are decent.

Three games that will get zero recognition from GOTY awards: Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Sonic & All-Stars: Racing Transformed, Ridge Racer Unbounded,
Three games I personally think deserve GOTY more than others: Dishonored, Far Cry 3, Spec Ops: The Line.

Far Cry 3.
Honorable mentions: Dishonored - Borderlands 2

Fuck the police. I won Quantum Conundrum in SG and it's one of the games I enjoyed the most this year. So underrated.
Also: Katawa Shoujo, Deus Ex, Orcs Must Die! 2, Little Inferno.
I haven't been able to play that many games on my shitty PC, tho... No dishonored or anything.

Spec Ops: The Line. Game just doesn't get the respect it deserves for doing something truly different, innovative and emotionally deep. Its just so utterly well thought out and executed, and its a shame that people A: wont give it a try because they think it looks like a gears of war clone B: think its an AMERICAN F*'YEAH! kinda game that they will automatically dismiss C: wont actually bother looking any deeper than the (admittedly poor) shooter gameplay.

With only a few days left in 2012 and no new releases before 2013, I was wondering what peoples' favorite game of the year is/was. While for me personally it'd be a tossup between The Walking Dead and Crusader Kings II, there have been a whole lot of quality games in 2012 and it'd be interesting to hear other peoples' opinions.
