Have you played and really enjoyed any one dollar games?
Fortix of course. ( I always liked Qix and it's successor Volfied, so it's right up my alley)
Also Out There Somewhere and Blood and Bacon.
The latter is a really competent horde-mode FPS for it's price

Yep-- Fortix is a solid recommendation, and in library because I'd like to play it. Love Qix-like games.
Somebody else recommended those other two games, and Also Out There Somewhere for one looks like I might enjoy it.
Thanks for the reply!

How DARE you mention a game that not $0.99 in my thread! j/k. Thanks for the recommendation!
And yeah...I, uh, missed that kinda similar thread. Oh well.

It's pretty rare for me to want a game that has a base price of less than 5$, let alone only 1$ (in fact, I don't have a single game under 5$ on my wishlist right now). I imagine those bundles aren't made for players anyway, just for collecting/idling.
On the other hand, like you mentioned, there are a few f2p that have gotten my attention (and I don't mean the f2p ones with 5000$ worth of cosmetics available for purchase)

I can definitely vouch for a few < $5 games, but I was stumped about $1 games, until a few folks in this thread reminded me of Hook (which I completed), Fortix (which is in my backlog), and a couple other games I at least activated on my account, meaning in theory I'd want to play them.
But yes, lots of f2p games look pretty good.

If there's a sale, no other get me more aroused. Not always the best, but if it is... It surely is the best:
Pinkman.
A pretty, and pretty great 8-bit platformer inspired by N+. It has a fart mechanic with beans to refill it, for darns sake.
There's one level (29) that's been exceptionally hard for me, but apart from that its one of my favorite platformer games. And that's almost everything I play.
Zasa - An AI Story
Good puzzle game involving spatial thinking and a bad title. It also got many community levels.
VOI
Another puzzle game, with similar ideas in mechanics. I'm starting to see a pattern.
It's also free on mobile, but I guess it still counts.
My Name Is Addiction
A definitely unique and different game about porn addiction and a little more psychological stuff.

VOI looks pretty decent. The others aren't striking. Thanks for the response!

The entire Space Pilgrim saga. Although I guess if you are picky you say it's one game for 4 bucks.
Greyfox, another RPGMaker adventure
Toadled is great fun aswell
But really, the storeprice doesn't really matter much if you exclusively buy bundles anyway. And why shouldn't one?

Oh we should! That's pretty much all I buy. But I've just been curious if there are some hidden $0.99 gems among the heaps of new $0.99 shovelware.

I think the only game I have is "Orion: Prelude". Bought a 4 pack super cheap on Steam long time ago. Gave 1 to a contact, 1 on Steam Companion and 1 here. Funny thing was I thought this was a real good game because everybody had It but not so long after I realized It was given for free at some point. It is one of those games that are bad but fun at the same time.

Two bucks game, often discounted. Really nice arcade puzzle

I think I've only played two $1 games (not on sale/bundles) before. I agree that I'm much more likely to play a F2P game than a 99c one. Just like I've never bought a game on my phone, even if it looked like it could be fun for a dollar. I dunno why exactly, even the two I played/enjoyed were gifted. Besides assuming the quality is usually "less", I'm pretty stingy when it comes to buying stuff and unless I think I'll love it try not to buy..even if it is "just a dollar".
I was gifted Zenge over Christmas which people have mentioned and I absolutely adored it. Also won Alpha Runner which I was pleasantly surprised with. Nothing incredibly unique, but if you're into these kinda games it's very addictive. I'm still missing one achievement though which irks me aaaa...need to get a score of 200 and my best was like 88 (which was super good for me). Especially if anyone won this in a mass giveaway, definitely worth giving it a shot.

Yep, Zenge is in my library waiting for me. And yeah, I meant just Steam 99c games, not Android/iOS. I imagine there are a lot of good ones there.

Yep, somebody mentioned Hook, and it turns out I've played it and enjoyed it! I had to change my poll answer from Never to Maybe Once. :)

Flix and Chill looks kinda fun, thanks for the recommendation.

Ehhh. I think there's a sliding scale of enjoyability for me, that does take into account the price, but for the most part there's not too many $1 games I strongly recommended. There's a sweet spot as far as indie games go where you might have a store price of $5 - $20 but the quality of that game and the enjoyment you get out of it easily matches that of a big studio release, even without factoring in the price. IE: Given a choice between one of those and a $60 game I might still choose to play the indie game. So to my mind those games are very enjoyable and highly recommended
Conversely, I don't know of any $1 games like that where I would say it was worth more than a dollar or I would rather play them than something else. My enjoyment of the cheap games is limited to the fact they are usually little games I can play in between other games, while enjoying a cup of coffee. So yes I technically 'enjoy' them, but only as a small distraction, I'd rather play something else if I have the time.

I've only played a handful of games that were ever $60, let alone when I played them.
But to your point, yes, one can "enjoy" a $1 game, even if one wouldn't normally choose to play it over some other indie (or other) title. But it still serves a purpose.

When the "beings" catch me I stop playing, angry. Possibly it is that I am a bad player and not the difficulty of the game. Anyway I love it and it's only worth one euro

I'll have to get this one for my daughter, who on some list for school under "something I'm scared of," wrote, "our basement." And we really don't have a particularly scary basement. But when she has to go down there, I'll say, "Say hello to the spiders for me!" :)

There are a few good 99 cent games i enjoy:

Balloon Popping Pigs: Deluxe: https://store.steampowered.com/app/575590/Balloon_Popping_Pigs_Deluxe/

Montaro and Nimble Bunn look...playable.
I think Super Dungeon Boy would literally kill me. I would die because of that game.

One Way Heroics is always gonna be the winner of this category.
It's very simple, and it may take you a few tries until you really work out how to have a really good run, but totally worth it. I overplayed the game by the time the expansion DLC thing came out though, so I can't comment on whether that's worth it, but the base game totally is.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, it doesn't fit the criteria (99c game in Steam store). Also, some people don't like anime or JRPG.
Doesn't mean it's not a good game, though!

Does Skullgirls count?
It's frequently on sale (not on steam but) for $1.
Nice indie title, pretty handdrawn graphics.
There's a fanatical star deal rn for it that comes with dlcs for $1!
I also like Montaro and or Plantera.

Montaro counts, the others do not have a list price of 99c.

[To clarify: I'm not looking to find cheap games to play. I am simply curious if anybody plays/enjoys these $0.99 (base price) games I see on Steam and in bundles all the time.]
So like some others, I'm getting tired of the influx of crappy, one-dollar (USD) shovelware that is flooding the Steam store lately (and seem to find their way OtakuBundle right away). Although I'll generally at least click on the store link before I set "Not Interested" in Steam and "Hide this giveaway" in Steamgifts, I'm starting to form the opinion that maybe I'll never want to play a one dollar game. I'd actually be more likely to play a free game (there are lots of good ones out there), and I've played some good two dollar games also-- I'm hardly somebody who only plays AAA games (just the opposite, really).
In my case, with very few exceptions, I don't really go for pixel graphics, RPGMaker, clicker, or achievement-farming games...and that would seem to account for a good number of one dollar games, as it turns out.
So-- recommend your favorite one dollar games to the Steamgifts community. What diamonds in the rough are there? Are there any nice, story-rich games out there? Any really fun arcade games or point-and-clicks? Any strategy games? Do any of these games not make your eyes bleed?
In the spirit of the topic, here are a few one dollar games for you (level 2) [ENDED]. The only reason I added the basic SGTools check is so that I don't have to contact support before and after key redemption to check activation for those folks who don't have a public games library. It seems silly to protect these games with SGTools, but the new privacy settings are forcing my hand.
