Video

So to sum up a bunch of police officers are attacked by a ¿Rottweiler? while arresting its owner and one of the cops shoots it down when it leaps towards him.

Do you think that killing the dog could be justified in this case? Is there any rule or law in your country concerning the way this dangerous species should be handled?

In my opinion the only thing that could have been improved is that the policeman should have finished off the dog so it would not suffer anymore and even if I'm always against any kind of violence I think that in this case it was more than justified considering that the presence of a exalted dog was severely threatening the integrity of everyone around.

What are your thoughts?

The dog was wondering why the fuck his best friend is harassed by 2 idiots. And when they saw the dog jumping out of the car they could just let the owner put him back in the car, but fuck logic, right?

The cop who shot a dog that did nothing but check on his owner.

What I think:

  • Owner of the dog should have not walked up that close to the police scene. You never know what the police are doing and if a gunfight brakes out, you might have been shot dead.
  • Owner should not have brought the dog along with him out of the car in the first place.
  • Owner should have left the dog in the car with the windows rolled up

The police were completely in the wrong here. Firs of all they had no right to arrest the man. Filming cops is a right that all U.S. citizens have as long as we don't interfere with their work, which he clearly wasn't. That being said, they could have let the man tke care of his dog, or they could have tased it. They're cops for fucks sake. They have tasers. I'm pretty sure that the police actually broke the law here for arresting someone with no just cause. If the unlawful arrest hadn't happened, the dog wouldn't have jumped out of the car.

If you read the background story or videos, it says the owner had loud music blaring out from his car and the police told him to turn it down.

I watched the first video and it appears the police never told him to turn it down. They were all just looking back at him giving him dirty looks.

If you can't hear it, this article says:

As some, including resident Gabriel Martinez, aimed their cellphones at the scene to record it, Rosby drove up in his rented black Mazda. Swain said Rosby stopped in the intersection with music blaring from his windows. Officers told him to turn down the music because they were trying to hear what was happening down the street. Rosby pulled forward, parked and got out with his dog, but left the music still playing loudly.

"It's distracting the officers," Swain said. "It's interfering with what they are able to hear. It's not just a party call. It's an armed robbery call. The officers need to hear what's going on with the people being called out of the residence. That music in his car is bleeding over and it's distracting them."

It´s totally the owner's fault, poor dog :(

The police just acted in self-defense.

The owner is a dumbass for filming police while having a rottweiler with him, the cops were morons for arresting the man, idiots for not securing the dog (it's common knowledge that they protect their owners) and douchebags for shooting the dog.
All in all, 4 wrongs and no right in sight.

I keep reading that "police arrested that man for no reason" comment over and over - BULLSHIT.

That guy parks his car blasting the speakers, right next to a bunch of cops, that are doing their job. He's walking around acting like a moron, provoking the P.Os., not turning down the music when asked, finally the cops are pissed and the situation escalates.

Now tell me, is this guy innocent? Was it necessary to act like a dumbfuck and "show the cops whos the big guy here"?
I don't think it was, and now we can see what happens if you do that.

I'm just sad and angry about what happened - an animal had to suffer and die for the douchebaggery of its owner.

Yeah, OP needs to edit his post. It's missing the background for the story. The video linked only shows the result.
