If you buy anything on Gamers Gate you would expect the 15% discount to be applied to what you are buying at the moment, but it doesn't work that way no more.

Now instead it work in a way of a blue coin rebate. What I mean is that you wont pay the discounted price that you normally would but you would get the discount in blue coins.

What do you think about this? My opinion I prefer have the discount applied to the final order, but the again blue coins is still a form cash on GG.

Nope, it is still there. It depends on the game, sometimes it gives you the 15% discount, and sometimes the 15% increase in blue coins.

Don't care so much about coins. I don't buy that much from GG to actually have enough coins to get something from them. I'd rather have the 15% off.

15% discount is one of the main reason I buy from GG.

I say discount should be a discount. As in "lower price for the same item". All other forms of credit/promotion should be called some other way.

That's... pretty annoying. But I guess I buy enough stuff from GG that I'll use the blue coins anyway. Still, I preferred the straight up discount.

-Other people who say that some games work that way and some work the old way: is there a pattern to which games work which way?

If they still give that discount, it's totally worth it !

I'll probably grab one month for $7 then. The discount plus some free games (to give away on Steam Gifts) seem worth it.

After a bit less than 50$ on Gamersgate you're investement will have payed off. And this is ignoring any free games. I didn't regret it :)

Signed up. I was somewhat disappointed by two things: I got charged tax even though I shouldn't have, and the older indie games are no longer available. I understand that at some point there were several games available to redeem.

Still, that 15% should pay for itself in about 10 years, and Payday The Heist will show up here on Steam Gifts one day. And maybe after it there will be a game I'll want to play myself. I also hope I'll get the tax back, although I've read that I shouldn't expect much from IGN Prime support.

Were you actually charged the tax, or did it just show up on their site?

Their site told me that I would be charged tax, but the Paypal email only mentioned $7.

Ah, thanks. I haven't seen the charge yet. Good to know it may only be shown, not charged.

The support is really bad, although I think they helped me once (not too sure, since they never answered my ticket. The problem got solved, though).

Concerning older indie games: There might be some still available. You might get King Arthur here

Also try this

Thank you so much! This makes me feel a lot better. King Arthur is one of the games I kept entering here on Steam Gifts. Now I no longer have to.

Any more of these? Or a way to find them?

Glad I could help :)

Last one I could find: No time to explain

There is no list or anything like that. The ones above I found through Google and trying urls. They all start with login.ign.com/prime/betas or login.ign.com/prime/promos. The last part can be tricky however.

Here are some expired ones:

I couldn't find Hacker Evolution Duality, but I'm pretty sure there aren't any keys left, either.

Edit: Unstoppable Gorg wasn't featured on ign prime. My bad.

That does suck. Relevant: Does anyone know how exactly the expiration of blue coins works? FIFO?

Earned ones expire in a year. Bought ones don't expire. They'll send you a warning message when it gets close.

It depends on the game, most products still offer 15% cashback but certain ones (Alan Wake for example) give the 15% in coins.

I don't care, I've never bought from Gamersgate as it's not much of a deal for europeans. Especially with the likes of Greenmangaming and their prices.
