The asterisks means they are from bundles and constantly giving them away without giving non bundle games will only afford you a maximum of 30 points.
And you said you want to give away stuff from your steam library? You cannot gift games you already own, steam gifts is not affiliated with steam and cannot remove your games from your library to give to others. You have to have purchased a non redeemed form of the game, either a steam gift or product key redeemable on steam, aside from battlefield 3 and minecraft.

Is there some special meaning to a game having an asterisk in the dropdown to create a giveaway? I have some stuff in my Steam library I'd like to put up, some of it has the asterisk in the list here.
