The best Zombie open world game is:
I spent about 50$ dollars for levelling up my profile. Now I plan to obtain roundy 40 lvl or even 69 lvl and then stop.
Guys, levelling up your Steam profile is money waste. Don't take a leaf out of my book.
@OP
When 1000 lvl will be reached, the user lvl gets reset and everything starts again, but this time user will shine with his fancy visual on his profile. You will be able to do it as well if you only spend 300k $ on badges.. Good luck!
P.S.
Poll is low.

My net expenditure on cards is exceeded at least 2:1 by my net profit from selling them.
Technically I'd probably still be ahead if I sold all my cards but a net gain is a net gain.

If you sell them via Steam market, all cash go to Steam wallet, so you can only get feeling of profit, while realistically you didn't earn any cent since you can't spend this money on nothing else than Steam items/games etc. You doubled the money only, which Valve will earn in near future. Truly you can't take any single cent to your own physical wallet.

Irrelevant that I can't cash out. That only matters if there is nothing on Steam that I would pay "real" money for. There is.
Profit confined to a closed system that I use and plan to continue to use counts as profit.
Now, if I never intended on buying anything on Steam again, you'd have a point.

My total profit? Yes, if I had saved every cent I could have afforded to buy GTA V at launch just from cards.

You mean how long? I don't know. I pointed out that I made profit; not that I was out for profit. If I were out for profit I wouldn't have 2400 cards in my inventory.
Edit: I've been doing trading cards since the beta.
It also helps sometimes if you have a friend give you several hundred cards that they don't want.
And it really helps if you have alts.
But personally I wouldn't have taken a net loss to make it to level 65.

Actually I think I'm sort of like you (exclude the part where friends give you free cards), farming cards and stuff to get the money to gain levels. But sometimes when I think the money I spent on levels could have been used to buy more games, it makes me conflicted. But at the same time levels are so beautiful >.>

Actually I would agree with you to some extent, profit needs to be money that can be taken out and spent on anything you want (whether on other investments or any other stuff). What he thinks of as profits, kind of reminds me of the money in stock market, where people think they are earning a profit when they have an increase (in paper), but when they try to sell their bonds or smth, they have a hard time selling, resulting in the profits sometimes not being as much or none at all.
Of course money can be taken out from steam (like selling keys), but he would have to account for the loss in money between buying keys and selling them to paypal. (Thus the profit would not be as high as he thought, although there still might be a profit)

Some say that it's stupid to spend massive money on solely leveling up the profile.
I agree with it. But in Japan (where Palmdesert lives) there's a flourish of smartphone games that are made for domestic users only, with an evil micro transaction system. It's a kind of excessive pay to win system. Players who want to win try to get the certificate of the spent money by paying thousands of dollars or even more in times. So on the one hand I respect Palmdesert's achievement, on the other hand there will be many more people who can achieve it easily if they come to steam. (It's unlikely to happen though)

There is a prophecy, my great great great grandfather told me about it on his death bed.
Once a user reached the 1000 level limit on Steam account, he would be messaged directly from lord Gaben himself, who would offer that user every Steam game for free, a lifetime supply of snicker bars, a Banhammer for every online game he chooses, and of course; a golden swivel chair right by Gaben's throne.
If the user accepts, he would receive all of the above and ascend to level 1001 and become Gaben's right hand.
If not, however... Gaben will shut his doors and wait for the next chosen one, while this one goes back to level 2.

It means you made steam rich, so they'll give you Bad Rats for free.

In case you wondered, like me, who the highest level Steam users are: SteamLadder

Gaben makes Half Life 3, Portal 3, and L4D3.
3 x 333 is 999.
1000-999 is 1.
1st person to reach 1000 will be Palmdesert.
Palmdesert is the Steam messiah who will bring the miracles upon us!

How about they just adjust the experience before someone's getting close? Their system, their rules.
They could just exponentiate all Steam level exp requirements by 56 to make sure it'll take the closest person another 20 years
to reach level 1000.

The same thing that happened when we reached level 100,000,000 in the summer monster game
we got a badge

he will marry a robot since he will be rich enough to afford the first models off the assembly line and it will be legal to marry robots then but unfortunately she will be opinionated and bossy and not let him have his own hobbies because she wants to be the only thing that he plays with 100% of the time, and we will seldom hear from him, then after a few years skynet will go active and suddenly there will be a robot uprising and he will be one of the first humans to fall victim to them.
