The other day I found a pre-paid card for a Straight Talk Wireless 30-day ($45) plan lying in a parking lot. It looks brand new, and the PIN hasn't been scratched off. I'd like to do something usefull with it. But I'm not possitive it's good.

So, does anybody know how these work? Is there a way for me to figure out if the card is good?

Nope no way to check the card without activating it. I'd take it, but I dont really need it. If no one else wants it, let me know.

Hmmm, that is unfortunate. Thanks for the info though. I'll keep you in mind as a potential recipient.

If I remember correctly it uses T-Mobile's network, so you can get a SIM card and put it in any t-mobile compatible device & get a month of unlimited data :) (not sure about if the device is carrier-locked how that would work)

nope, straight talk uses att sprint tmobile and verizon, all depends on the phone you buy, or what phone you bring to their plan. branded straight talk use either sprint or tmobile, but since you can bring your own phone (mines an att note 4) you can end up on other networks too.

Ah, nice to know. It had been a few years since I last looked at it.

I don't really have any need for it anyhow. I have a cheep Boost phone plan right now. I was hoping to trade or sell this card. But that's harder if I can't be sure it's good.

(Since the PIN hasn't been viewed I think it must be good as long as it was activated rather than shoplifted. But even that I'm not certain of.)
