Hey, I just won 'Legends of Aethereus' up here, and the gift was automatically marked as received, and the Steam key was given in the 'View Won' page here on SG. That's awesome, but can regular gifters be given this option?

That is to say, if I make a giveaway for, say, FTL, one copy, contributor $30.01, public... you get the idea... I'd also like to be able to copy and paste the Steam key or Humble gift URL right into the giveaway. This would of course waive any claim to a reroll, and it would guarantee the winner can claim his or her gift just as soon as the giveaway ends and they next log onto SG.

The only problem I can foresee is if the key is a duplicate or invalid. There should be a way to verify a key, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I think it should be optional, as a 'set it and forget it' kind of thing, with the old way still present (just leave it blank).

The reason I ask is, at the end of the year, I'm just going to dump ALL my leftover keys. A forum I'm loyal to gets first dibs, but they didn't bite in a previous giveaway so... I imagine most of them will go to SG. They're all bundle keys, but IDGAF, I just want them gone and not all to one lucky opportunist, and SG is a fair way to do that, I'm sure y'all agree. So, the thing is, they're all Steam keys, so I'd prefer the 'set it and forget it' method if it were available. As ...and I don't know where I was going. Got up to do something, forgot where I was going. Anyway, be well all, Merry Christmas if you celebrate it, Happy Holidays if you don't. ;)

You can't see, if a key is used/invalid without redeeming and using it on Steam.

You're pretty much answered your own question. Nope. :p

A much better idea would be to make a forum topic listing the games you're giving away, then have people request the two games they want (in order). Pick one person for each key, and hit "send." Done and done.

If you're after CV, then you'd have to make a giveaway for each game. P

Featured/developer giveaways automatically get marked as received? I didn't realize that. Anyway, if that's the case you couldn't just allow everyone to utilize that feature because it would cause a lot of problems.

As far keys go, you can't verify whether one is used or not without actually using/activating it.

Yup. The process is pretty neat.

There should really be a way to verify Steam keys without activating them. It would make things like this possible, and would also make trading a bit safer.

Then again, Steam doesn't want to encourage key trading.

The biggest problem I can see is that if Steamgifts' database was expanded to natively carry keys, it would be an obvious target for hackers and so would need a lot more security.
