I've received 1 out of 3 feedbacks. Two of the three have activated the game on Steam. One hasn't signed on for about ~8 days. I've tried emailing the users again and friending them, but so far, 5 days and 1 out of 3 confirmed on SG. Try emailing them again, I guess. I don't think you can "take away" the gifts.

I'd honestly hoped for better out of the people here than that. We're going to have to see about potentially removing those who don't even out in minimal effort, between these kinds of response rates and the 20-odd people joining a giveaway for a DLC none of them had, I'm quite thoroughly disappointed.

ya I never got feedback from 3 of the people I gifted too. Really really irritating.

Ok, it seems this is a common issue (11% of winners have not left feedback), so let's figure out a solution. A few ideas have come up, so I'll list them below to start.
Both of those sounded great at first, but I checked the 4 winners from slax's giveaways, and none of them have been active since their win.
Above is too much work for everyone involved.
What about if we start giving everyone the benefit of the doubt? Winners can leave negative feedback after 5 days, and after 10 days, gifts are automatically set as received? If the winner returns in the future, and the gift was never received, they could always adjust the feedback accordingly.

Switching to trusting the gift giver by default and letting the winner accuse the giver of failure to deliver sounds like a good idea, but just as a nice mechanic, the first one would also be good to have in place. I'm not sure if rewarding someone for what I'd consider to be an obligation is a correct move however.

I got an update from one of my sub winners. He didn't even know he won until I sent a personalized message to his email address instead of just resending the Steam gift. Some people just glance over that stuff not knowing they won, I guess.
Giving users points for leaving feedback is a great idea.

True, in some cases it may be getting caught by spam filters or just the persons nature is telling not to click on any links that say "Congratulations you're a winner!" because those are the most likely spam/virus emails. So they naturally ignore them.

The user already won a game, getting a point seems a bit unfair. Maybe stop letting them receive new points until they verify that they did/did not receive their gift. Missing points would be rewarded on redemption. This would stop one time users of the site from randomly deciding to enter more giveaways later without at least verifying that they did get the game they already won.

Or just have them stop getting points until they leave feedback. Since they won something I find this fair. If they don't leave feedback within 10 days of the gift being marked as sent their account should be deleted (or something among that line).

This is ridiculous!!! I vote for: "Prevent users from entering future giveaways if they have not left feedback on one prior". This means permanently ban those people from this website. People that do not respect the contributors should not be welcome on this website. The whole website/concept is based on the generousness of these very nice people. People that take that for granted and don't leave feedback....shoo them.

I agree. If they can't be concerned to leave feedback, don't let them enter any more giveaways until they do.

I think giving them a point isn't the thing to do seeing as how they just won a game. I think we should do the moderator checking the gifts sent than adjusting the feedback for them. Maybe even have a way to give comments on the winners profile, so that there's a way to keep track of the people who consistently do this.

I'd say the benefit of the doubt one. I emailed the winners and still haven't heard from them so i thought maybe they just activated their games and then went on vacation but they have recent(1-2 days) activity on steam. So they either forgot about the site or don't care because they got what they were looking for. So i believe the benefit of the doubt would be the best option :)

I like the first bullet point. It lets people know that they have won something, while at the same time preventing people who aren't giving feedback. The only way this site can police itself is through coding, and social systems like feedback. If people aren't using those socially ostracizing systems then this site fails to function properly in checks and balances.

I don't get it. Is it hard to reply that you got the gift? Do you even get an email telling you to reply? I mean I've gifted 4 copies now without any feedback except for steam telling me the gifts were redeemed.
