Travis managed to find us some back alleys to shorten our way and keep us away from the living dead. Our car journey was - thankfully - uneventful. Eventhough the number of Zombies seems to grow, it's still somewhat manageable. Or so we thought...
Arriving at Sakura's home, we knew there would be no easy way in. The streets were crawling with Zombies - dozens of shambling undead were blocking our way. Curiously they did not really react to our car.
We stopped, got out our weapons and carefully approached. The Zombies were busy clawing at the walls, heaven knows why, and most did not spot us at all. The few that came close were mainly dispatched by Travis though I , too, got one.
I unlocked the house door with my key, ushered Travis in and locked behind me. Slowly creeping up the stairs we covered each other, and lo and behold - some of Sakura's neighbours seem to have turned. We took the two horrors down and I unlocked Sakura's flat door.
The door was badly damaged, but manageable. For now we three are securely indoors... we'll grab Sakura's gear now and head over to Clansman. Once we're all ready, we'll decide what to do next.

You should consider going to a local store or etc to pack up supplies.
Anyway, OGrady, I'm afraid I'll have to leave you and your friends without advice for approximately 16 hours. My headquarters are under attack. It seems you were wrong - not only Germany is filled with zombies. Just don't forget, the key to surviv-

I think you should defeat all the zombies with your awesome singing power, Eric Speed style. Who needs supplies?

Remember to siphon gas from any abandoned cars you find, or even better stop at a gas station and fill up with some fuel. You do not want to run out unexpectedly.

Voted Travis - he will be the most useful early on when you have to collect the other 2 friends.
Items:
Glasses - I assume you need them to see well.
Army knife - many uses e.g. cutting zombies.
Phone - coordinate with your friends, hopefully you will collect them all before the telecom buildings are overrun.
Keys - one of them might be for a car, useful even if Travis is good at urban navigation.
Tape - MacGyver.
Good luck!
EDIT: Crap, I was too late. Should have read the comments before posting. While you get ready you should bring a Zombie carcass for Sakura to study.

This sucks. The one day I try to get in some quiet reading, and we get a zombie outbreak. Thought at first it where the neighbors kids again, screeching like banshees, but as I looked out the window I saw the gardens swarming with zombies. They must have come quite suddenly since they took my neighbors by surprise and where happily munching away on them. I never much liked them anyway.
I raced down the stairs and managed to lock the front door securely, but I could already hear sounds from the basement, the zombies apparently had found the back door. So I just locked the cellar door and ran back to my flat. I locked and barricaded that door too, and hoped for the best.
As I was searching around my flat for anything useful and categorized my food supplies, I found some leftover meat, that wouldn't stay fresh for a siege anyway. I decided to try some experiments. I soaked it in the most vile chemicals and cleaners I had around and threw it down to the zombies. None of it seems to be able to kill them, but it worked as a distraction, and some of it might have made them less coordinated. Or perhaps it's just the normal zombie decay. I'd need more time to test it thoroughly. At least they were mostly running against walls, and didn't seem to possess enough motor skills to break down my door.
Then OGrady showed up. I nearly bashed his head in with a stepladder as he unlocked my door. While I'm glad he's all right and unharmed, it would have served him right, scaring me like that. Travis was with him, and injured, too. I collected my stuff in a hurry. I got a small med kit with bandages, medical tape, painkillers and gauze, sharp scissors, a lighter, some rope and a bottle of vodka, as a disinfectant or crude narcotic.
I also had a cooling pack for Travis' knee and gave him some of the painkillers to keep him effective.
Now we are on our way to Clansmans house. I hope he's alright and well.

If Clansman's house is defensible, it might be a good place to stay for the night.

Having called Clansman before we went I knew what was waiting for us. It still did not really prepare us.
We were cautioned not to step on the wire mesh Clansman had put on the ground. We didn't. However, we did not expect the Zombies to look like... this. Burned beyond recognition, smoldering heaps of rotting flesh... my stomach turned, and Travis and Sakura didn't look happy, either.
Anyway, we sidestepped Clansman's deathtrap and knocked on the door. There was a loud rumble, then a shudder, then footsteps. When the door finally opened we looked upon an array of deathtraps, too many to count, too creative to describe. With a grin he welcomed us in.
We should be safe here as long as we have electricity. We'll use the rest of the day for gear maintenance, to plan tomorrow and to take a deep breath or two. We'll spend the night here and in the morning we'll decide what we do next.

(Seeing you are still online and reporting, I guess electricity isn't much of a problem. :-))

Considering that we're not even sure what we're up against, we have several options tomorrow.
You guys decide while we go to sleep. Good night.

Supplies first, if you move around it might disperse the zombies from lingering around your base thus keeping secure for present and allow you to take them out individually as you run into in small numbers them while collecting supplies.

Definitely number 2. It may be stupidly dangerous, but you could experiment (relatively) safely on ways to get past them. Do they hunt by sight, smell, sound, all of these, or something else? If you find the soft tissue has all decayed, you can devise new ways to appear invisible to them since all three senses depend on soft tissue. Plus, it would be awesome to read.
You might want to keep him away from where you stay though, in case he attracts more zombies.

Raid for more supplies!! Get them before other survivors do!

Take Travis. With him, you can kick a lot of zombie ass and fuck them up. Also, you two seem like a awesome combination. Clansmen can upgrade your weapon, so what? Your good with small weapons. Sakura can only make sandwiches and heal you but can't fight, so she'll hold you back.
As for the five weapons, pick the fucking computer. You can fuck lots of zombies with it, just chuck it at their face and scream 'COME AT ME BRAH.'

QUICK!
Grab the keyboard!
That would be a decent weapon for the start!
Keyboard
Repair- 100%
Damage- 15%
Type- Lightweight
Durability- 10%
"Smashing trolls since 1969"
It's durability isnt that strong so use it wisely. It has a decent range and it's easy to carry!
As for ally, i would suggest Travis, his skill in geology and urban navigation will give you a good ground. With his skill chances of finding zombies will be limited. As well as his ability to use larger weapons to aid in your lack of ability in them. On your journey you will find some survivors no doubt! Medical and technological equipment will be provided by the things around you as well as survivors you may encounter! Hold out at Mercy Hospital, we are on our way! It doesn't look too good here in America but the more people we gather up, the better!
Stay strong Brother!

OK.... we've had a more or less quiet night, but I have to admit that the constant moaning is starting to take it's toll on us all. Since the overwhelming majority wants us all to go foraging that's what we'll do. I suppose I'll open a new thread for day 2 later today... provided we all survive, of course.

(Just to make sure -- even in the time of zombie apocalypse, the connection to Steam is still needed? Because if yes, then dammit; my sysadmin here at work got already eaten, so there's no way for me to connect to Steam at this time of day.)

Okay, thanks. :-) (I hope it's not because of the walking dead.)

Day 2
Day 3
Day 4
Guys, I'm really sorry, but this week the giveaway won't happen. Why, you ask? Because of the stupid Zombie Apocalypse, that's why! Whatever did we Germans do to deserve that?
Um.
Anyway, I'm kinda busy with the whole saving my skin stuff, and I suppose if you guys want Left 4 Dead 2 you'd better keep me alive through all this crap. Here's what I know:
So, yeah. I kinda want to survive this crap. The undead are not yet attacking my house, but I have no doubts that they will soon. I need to get ready to move out.... I'll grab some basic gear - food and water, mostly - and head out to get help. First of all, in addition to food and water, what else should I grab? I have room for about 5 items. Here's what's on my desk right now: http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/9168/01desk.jpg
As for my personal skills.... I have some skill in grappling and hand-to-hand combat and I can use small melee weapons quite well though I lack skill with the larger weapons. Potentially I am a decent shot, but I have no gun at my disposal. I have a decent level of fitness and some training and experience in leadership.
After we've decided which items to collect, I need a destination. I have three friends I trust with my life and I'm sure they'll stand with me through the zombie apocalypse:
Decide who I should get first and tell me which items to grab from my desk. My preparations should be done in about 2 hours tops.
