I recently wanted to give away games to some of my friends but there is the problem that they cannot register due to their account value being too low. Would it be possible to let ppl with low value register but not join public give aways but if an option is ticked on create giveaway allow those ppl with low value accounts to participate too? Because I want to use this website to make sure theres no hard feelings and nothing is rigged between me and my friends.

Edit: Idm not getting CV and I'm making this suggestion so RNG is definitely out of my hands since its done by a third party.
Nvm found a solution gonna use gameminer, so now its just a idea I'd like to just put out there. And proceed to just close this down.

Can you define CV? not sure what it means, if you mean contributor value then copy and paste"Well i dont mind if it didn't add to my account giveaway value if thats what you mean"

Well, if you don't mind CV, I think you don't really need SG to gift game to your friends. Isn't it easier to gift them directly on Steam?

But if i give it through 3rd party no hard feelings since RNG is definitely out of my hands

How about use RNG, and record the drawing process with your phone, the video will prove that it wasn't rigged.
If they think it's rigged, I think you should find better friends....

What's stopping people from creating multiple accounts without a value restriction?
We already have a problem with multiple accounts has is

No, thats not what i meant.
Without restriction most people would would register on this site with multiple steam accounts to increase the odds of winning, they already do it though

Oh I know them in real life so I would know if one of them tried to do it... but i guess i see your point there. But like if this function gets considered the purpose might have to outlined as intended for people you know? Little description section below it.

This won't get considered and it shouldn't. It is a waste of cg's time. Random pickers already exist.

The function you need--to be able to randomly select a winner amongst your friends while they are unable to enter normal giveaways and while you receive no CV from the giveaway--already exists elsewhere on the internet.

It's just a random picker. Use any site that randomly picks x winners amongst y choices.

Yea but you know I've had the problem when I did this in the past few of them thought it was rigged because my best friend got one of them.

Agree with AboveAverageJoe and HerBrokenHeart.

And even then: you're giving them away, so you can do what you want. Even if you had said that your best friend would get one and the other games would be divided over the others... it's your choice.

Sounds like some of these people aren't your friends.

To satisfy your "friends" who don't trust you not to rig things use a reputable site and stream using it to pick live.

Or get new friends.

If there was no value restriction for joining for group GAs, people would just make a bunch of alt account and do group GAs to boost their own level. This will NEVER happen

Just use a random number generator to give something to your friends

Ben & Jerry's is the best for like fancier/funkier flavors and Breyers is the best for the more classic flavors...

B & J cookie dough is pretty good.

With Breyers et al, I really only like their Reese's/Snickers/Butterfinger stuff. And that Mrs. Smith cookie one.

I don't really go for the classic flavors.

heard you the first time you said it... and still gonna suggest if for how little chance there is for this to be considered.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I only said get adult friends once.

First I said get new friends. I said that because they don't seem to trust you, and if someone doesn't trust you, how can they be your friend?

The second time I said get some adult friends. I said that because meeting the account value requirement isn't that difficult for most adults--even very poor ones--but it can be extremely difficult for children.

Already found a solution, skype share screen. I'd rather not reveal too much about them but some of them not all have money issues in a regard.

As soon as someone bitched about it being rigged the first time, that'd be the last time I'd consider giving them anything.

I'm all for modifying the register value, but I think it should be raised to $200 or something.
That way, the number of alt accounts and bots would really drop.

Oh ok. For some reason I was thinking the requirement to join steamgifts was 5 dollars :x
$100 is kind of a lot for some people. One of my friends has about $4,500 worth of games and he recently told me that he has over 6k in credit card debt. Funny how that works..

$100 isn't that much. $5 is nothing. Hell, you need to spend $5 on Steam to unlimit a new account.

If you want just rng to decide winner and don't care about CV, you can use private giveaways on Gameminer for that. You can make giveaway for whatever you want.
