It could be an issue with the Steam API, it usually is when it's about packages and such. You can just manually hide them by clicking the eye symbol

Edit: Also you didn't exactly specify your problem in the support ticket, as you did here by naming Sam and Max giveaways, hence the response you got which either way was correct.

Have you synced your SG acc? If it won't help then it is API thingy people are talking about.

just use the little hide icon on the ones that the api doesn't catch. && nice clickbait title.. the mods did in fact help you, it was just a bit more generic information that didn't quite cover this case scenario.

You asked the wrong question, you got the wrong answer, don't blame mods for that.

You'd ask "why I see Sam and Max giveaways", you'd get info about SteamAPI and how you have to hide it yourself.
