The idea behind a giveaway or donation is giving that item and not expecting anything in return.

I guess I'm lucky, but I haven't ever been asked for anything but a trade. I have accepted every random friend request. I'll probably keep doing that until it ends poorly :P

You get a warm fuzzy feeling on the inside.
Warning: Warm fuzzy feeling will not provide actual warmth

But it's guaranteed to be fuzzy, right?

Nothing, you just gain happiness from being able to give somebody a game that they want to play. :)
That's a good feeling, believe me. :)

What do you get for opening a giveaway.... usually nothing, sometimes a virtual kick in the ass, sometimes you get people begging for stuff.
I've been here for about two months and I'm already cynical.

Actually, the real answer would be: by creating enough giveaways you get to be invited to some private groups where they create giveaways for themselves, with a higher chance of winning because just a few people are in, as opposed to 2000 per public giveaways. Why people like being trolls when it takes them time for not adding anything useful to the world, while not being even remotely funny and not getting anyone "mad", is beyond me!

I don't know about you guys after I gave away my 5th game a bunch of supermodels came over to my house and begged me to sleep with them. But as it turns out I love my girlfriend so I told them to go away and quit bothering me.
