I wish your brother's band well! Music industry is very tough... I play 6 string bass mostly and am into very complex and technical power/progressive/experimental styles. Not easy to jump through all the hoops and red tape to get noticed here, and a lot of stuff nowadays wants a bunch of money up front because of crappy promoters and such... I got sick so I cannot do anything like that anymore, and don't know how I ever was able to, since I have been sick for a long long time(but I can play for a long time on very good days, or if I take pain meds for my hands).
Wacken Open Air is a great place to get some exposure though, so just being there is quite a nice step. Wishing them well and some continued progress up the ladder!

Yep, working hard to get better though. Some days I touch a bass and I know it's one of those days where my hands are really nervy and feel like bricks sort of, and then other days I can play a tiny bit, and then the crazy pain or weakness creeps in. Other times, I can play for hours at a time, so it's very random and strange with the various conditions I have going on. Same with the rest of me too though - random and crazy symptoms that are kind of all over with pain and weakness...
Working on getting better though, so that's my focus now! I want to play more music because it's such a great outlet. Strange thing is, I can type and hold video game controllers and I don't get any problems hardly ever, but something about instruments can be tough on my hands. Keeping my mindset on the goal though, and I know things will improve as I learn more and get more treatment!
